Bob’s Burgers: 2019 could be the best year for the show yet

2018 was easily one of the best years for Bob’s Burgers and its fans. As good as 2018 was, 2019 has the potential to be even better.

With the New Year rapidly approaching, it’s exciting to be a fan. No matter what franchise you like, there’s always something to look forward to. 2018 was a huge year for a lot of shows but most notably, Bob’s Burgers. With everything that happened in 2018, 2019 could prove to be even bigger for the show.

Looking back at 2018, Bob’s Burgers had one of its best years ever. The series aired the 2nd half of its 8th season and the 1st half of its 9th. The Belchers truly became larger than life with restaurant pop-ups, collaborations with companies and a new primetime slot. That’s not even getting into how incredible the season 8 episodes were.

Heading into 2019, there’s a lot to live up to. As awesome as 2018 was, the show has a chance to have an even bigger year. The most obvious reason is the show still has the second half of season 9. Even though I haven’t enjoyed it as much, season 9 has a lot of potential. With teasers posted on Bento Box’s Instagram, there’s already a lot of hype around it.

The Bob’s Burgers cast and crew doesn’t give many hints at what’s coming. It’s a little bit frustrating but leaves them with the element of surprise. Loren Bouchard has hinted about a 2nd album being released.

Their 1st album was received warmly by fans and almost immediately, everyone was asking for another. Bouchard promised it’s coming soon and that could mean 2019 as it would cover season 7, 8 and possibly part of 9.

Another aspect we don’t know much about is the movie. In 2017, the announcement was made but news was scarce in 2018. Heading into 2019, there’s a realm of possibilities for what we can get. We could get a teaser trailer, a full trailers, some plot details or even, a poster. They can’t avoid releasing movie news much longer.

2019 also brings the promises of new merchandise. Hopefully, Funko will finally release another line of Pop! Figures. If not, the series has branched out immensely with its merchandise including bedding, board games and sleepwear. For years, their merch has been impossible to find and 2019 could remedy that for good.

Bob’s Burgers has grown immensely since 2011. The series is now an Emmy winner, praised by critics and has found its audience. With fantastic writing, immense character development and growing viewership, the show is finally getting the attention it deserves. As passionate as we fans are, 2019 could be the best year for Bob’s Burgers yet.
