FOX’s Friday night lineup continues to impress, even with reruns. Meanwhile, Dynasty returns high and The Blacklist continues to improve. Here are the Friday TV ratings for January 18.

Friday, Jan. 18 saw a mixture of good and bad news for shows. FOX aired reruns of Last Man Standing and The Cool Kids, which would usually mean dips compared to other networks. How did they do in the Friday TV ratings against the likes of new The Blacklist and Dynasty Season 2 returning from winter break?

Despite reruns, FOX performed extremely well in the 8-9 p.m. timeslot. Last Man Standing continues to prove to be the successful revival, taking the second-place spot in terms of total audience (3.86 million) and joint second in the demo (0.7). The Cool Kids was another good choice for a Friday night freshman, taking the same position for that hour slot (3.04 million/0.6).

Meanwhile, Dynasty‘s second season winter premiere saw a good increase from the fall finale. It returned to a 5% increase in the total audience (0.66 million) and a whopping 42% in the demo (0.2). While an increase for a winter premiere is common, the 42% is higher than expected. If the ratings remain like this, there’s a chance that The CW will renew the show for another season to hold up the Friday nights.

It wasn’t the only CW show to see a good demo increase. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend returns last week down, but this week’s all-new episode saw a 62% increase in the key demo (0.48 million/0.2). The increases didn’t see The CW take over any of the other networks but that’s not surprising considering the audience.

In the 9-10 p.m. timeslot, Hawaii Five-0 unsurprisingly took the win but it did return down (7.55 million/0.8). Meanwhile, NBC’s The Blacklist saw a boost to the ratings, suggesting that Season 6 has now steadied. There was a 10% increase in the total audience (4.04 million) and a 7% increase in the demo (0.6).

There was a rerun of Blue Bloods in the 10 p.m. slot, but CBS still beat NBC’s Dateline. The rerun pulled in 6.15 million/0.6 vs. the new episode of Dateline that saw 3.13 million/0.6.
