Game of Thrones predictions for Daenerys’ fate come season eight. A vision of a snow covered Iron Throne and a path to whether or not the Mother of Dragons is fated to win Westeros or sacrifice herself for it.

Game of Thrones season eight will be the final chapter come April and with it some fans probably have questions for what is to become of Westeros and the rightful Heir to the Iron Throne. The threat of the Night King and the army of the dead looms as they pierced their way via the help of the undead dragon, Viserion. About a month ago a teaser was revealed for season eight.

With a resurrected dragon at the side of the White Walkers, impending doom for Westeros is on the horizon. But after the dust clears, who will or will not emerge victorious and how much of a change will be looming for the seven kingdoms?

Predictions have been made via The Hollywood Reporter speculating the fate of Daenerys. One of which includes her victory over Westeros. Fans may recall when Dany first met Tyrion Lannister as she planned her conquest over the seven kingdoms and using a wheel analogy. She mentioned that she’s not just stopping the wheel (of rulers), but intends to “break the wheel.”

Another path mentioned that she may not have been fated to rule the seven kingdoms and was only meant to sacrifice herself for the better of Westeros. Finally, there’s another prediction combining both possibilities.

Consider the vision in season two that Dany had in the House of the Undying. She was in pursuit of her stolen baby dragons. She was really just passing through King’s Landing’s Red Keep when her final destination was being reunited with Khal Drogo.

In the interim, she sees a snow covered Iron Throne and throne room floor. She looks up to see a destroyed roof. Images of the “long night” come to mind, as I’m guessing this vision is fast forwarding Dany to this most often spoke about period in time longer than even Alaska’s six months.

Game of Thrones’ season seven revealed the first time meeting between Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow with his cohort Sir Davos Seaworth. That conversation led to a back and forth dialogue regarding Dany demanding Snow take a knee and with him saying that there’s bigger fish to fry north of The Wall; the White Walkers, the Night King, and the army of the dead.

The conclusion of the conversation was left with Snow saying, “You’ll be ruling over a graveyard if we don’t defeat the Night King”. Seaworth backed Jon stating, “If we don’t put aside our amenities and band together, we will die. And then it doesn’t matter whose skeleton sits on the Iron Throne”. To me this runs in line with the vision Dany had in the House of the Undying, minus the skeleton of course.

Then there’s this third vision that combines the two, with one indicating her reign after victory, but a victory over a kingdom in shambles. Perhaps there will be irreparable damage that comes of her conquest. Keep in mind, history has shown Westeros having gone through the “long night” and the disturbing descriptions at the suffering of those who attempted to survive inhospitable conditions. If Dany wins, she could be starting her first day of work as queen in a fantasy Ice Age and quite possibly a generation long event.

Or the vision is representative of her self-sacrifice and the outcomes of that path. It’s interesting how you have go all the way back to season two to remember such things, but this is where a re-watch of the seven seasons are in order, is it not?

Next. Game of Thrones theory suggests Daenerys will become The Night Queen. dark

Since this show has a tendency for grim outcomes and situations as opposed to a typical Hollywood happy ending, should a victory by Daenerys Targaryen be all what it’s cracked up to be? Even though you win, you can still lose. What kind of quality of life or experience will  Dany have if she wins? Will Westeros be better off without Dany alive via her predicted self-sacrifice?

Game of Thrones season eight premieres come April 14.
