Syfy renews The Magicians for Season 5
It’s official. The Magicians Season 5 is happening. What could this mean for this coming season?
SYFY has officially renewed The Magicians for Season 5, ahead of its fourth season premiere. Based on the bestselling novels by Lev Grossman, the news comes with the announcement of an additional showrunner.
While The Magicians Season 4 won’t premiere until tomorrow, we’re going into it knowing that we don’t need to worry about any cliffhangers. After all, this is The Magicians, so there is going to be a cliffhanger ending! We’ll get answers next year.

Along with the announcement, Henry Alonso Myers has joined both John McNamara and Sera Gamble as co-showrunner for the upcoming season. As a member of the production team since the very first minute of the whole series, he has helped develop these characters and this story. He’s the perfect addition to the overall running of the series.

It’s not clear just who will remain with the show. While in a press release from NBC Universal (parent company of SYFY) the showrunners said that anyone who poaches a single member of the cast and crew “will be cursed,” there are no spoilers for the end of the fourth season. We’ll pick up with our heroes’ memories wiped and Eliot taken over by the Monster. Anything goes for this season.
There’s hope the showrunners’ words mean that everyone eventually makes it out alive. We better not lose one of our flawed, realistic heroes.
