ABC renews A Million Little Things, The Good Doctor, and Shark Tank
It’s good news for three shows on ABC. A Million Little Things, The Good Doctor, and Shark Tank have all received another season.
During ABC’s TCAs on Feb. 5, there were three shows picked up for another season each. Freshman series A Million Little Things and The Good Doctor became the most recent two scripted dramas to land new seasons, while Shark Tank picked up a renewal in the unscripted section.
It wasn’t surprising news for any, really. The Good Doctor has consistently been a strong player since its debut last season. While down from its first season, it still remains as one of the more popular and consistent shows in its 10 p.m. timeslot. CBS tried to go up against it with Bull but has so far failed. NBC’s Manifest is the freshman to take on the medical drama for first place.

The Good Doctor will likely keep its Monday night timeslot. However, ABC won’t confirm this until May 2019.
Meanwhile, A Million Little Things was a safe bet earlier this year. It was even more of a sure thing after the move to Thursday nights. While many still wait for Station 19 to return to the post-Grey’s Anatomy slot, the feel-good drama has certainly proved a worthy contender. It rose to becoming the third most popular drama on the network behind The Good Doctor when only the Thursday figures are taken into account, according to TVLine.
It suggests that this may be a more permanent slot for the series moving forward. Chances are ABC will bring A Million Little Things back in the fall to see if the sophomore year can continue the magic. The show is, however, more popular in the delayed viewing, so it may not matter when it’s placed in the lineup.
Shark Tank will returned for an 11th season. Despite being down from the previous year, the series remains as ABC’s fifth most popular unscripted series, according to TV Series Finale. Saving it wasn’t a question to be had.
