Could Noel Fisher return to Shameless Season 10 as Mickey Milkovich?

When Shameless Season 10 was announced, it was also revealed that Cameron Monaghan would return. Does this mean Noel Fisher could also return as Mickey Milkovich?

Shameless fans said goodbye to Ian Gallagher (Cameron Monaghan) during the first half of Season 9, but when Shameless Season 10 was announced last week, it was revealed that Monaghan would, in fact, be returning to the series. When we last saw Ian, he had been sentenced to two years in prison, but in an incredible twist of fate (aka internal manipulation and plotting), Ian found himself as Mickey Milkovich’s new cellmate.

We doubt there will be a time-jump past Ian’s two-year sentence, so we may find him still in prison during Shameless Season 10. Unless Ian — or Mickey — is released from prison early or moved to a new building (which Shameless writers could very well do) chances are high that we could see Noel Fisher reprise his role as Mickey Milkovich… and we’re ready to see #Gallavich rise once more.

Emmy Rossum previously announced that she would be leaving at the end of the current season, and fans weren’t sure if the series would (or should) be able to continue without both her and Monaghan. Even though we’re officially saying goodbye to Fiona at the end of Season 9, we are very excited to learn that Ian will be returning after all. This Season 10 renewal makes Shameless the longest-running series ever on Showtime.

The President of Entertainment at Showtime Networks, Gary Levine, said in a statement that “Shameless with its ever-growing fan base, is like no other show on television,” and that he is “thrilled it will live on with its unique blend of love and larceny on Showtime.”

Executive producer John Wells added that, “All of us on Shameless are delighted that we get to tell more wonderful Gallagher stories—and thankful to Showtime for their continued support.” But will those stories include Mickey and Ian?

Along with the return of Cameron Monaghan, it was confirmed that we can also expect to see William H. Macy, Jeremy Allen White, Emma Kenney, Ethan Cutkosky and Christian Isaiah around the Southside. There hasn’t been any other confirmation news for the rest of the Shameless cast, but production for Shameless Season 10 will begin later this year.
