Angela Cole recently took the time to share with Hidden Remote about her skyrocketing acting career as well as her upcoming musical ventures.

Angela Cole is one of those actors who has the presence of a Jennifer Lawrence or a Shailene Woodley. She’s just a powerhouse with endless talent. Don’t believe me? Watch her movies. No, really. I’ll wait.

She really has that star presence directors search till the ends of the earth to find. It’s a rare gift — one that has already carried her far and promises to carry her much further as time goes on. Needless to say, we were very thankful she was willing to share with us a little about her acting journey and her upcoming album recording.

Here’s what Angela Cole had to say about stealing the bright lights in her debut film, Fighting The Sky, and what the future holds for her as her career takes off into high gear.

Hidden Remote: You’ve really burst onto the scene here in recent years. Looking back, does it feel weird for you to see how far you’ve come?

Angela Cole: It definitely is a surreal feeling looking back. Although, no matter what happened, I always knew I would still be doing what I love in some aspect or another.

HR: How did you get involved with Fighting The Sky?

Cole: Fighting the Sky was my first film that I had ever auditioned for. I knew of the auditions from a friend who knew the director and just had me audition like anyone else. It was actually a funny story, really. They had originally wanted the lead to be a male. After looking for some time for the perfect actor for the role, they then decided that they wanted the role to be female and kind of re-worked the part for me.

HR: I would pit your acting in Fighting The Sky against that of anyone. You were really good. How was your overall experience with that movie?

Cole: That means the world, honestly. Thank you! I had such a fun time on set. I met and was able to work with the best cast and crew I could ask for. They even let me do my own stunts, which I thought was really cool. I always admired Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible movies for him choosing to do his own stunts. I couldn’t have asked for a better set to be welcomed into the industry with.

HR: What have been some of the coolest acting experiences you’ve had thus far?

Cole: Honestly, getting to work with some of my favorite actors has been really amazing. It is the most humble feeling getting to learn and work with people whom you admired so much growing up. For me, though, being able to be the leading hero lady in one of my favorite genres for my first film ever will always be one of my favorite experiences.

HR: Are there any particular actors you would like to work with in the future?

Cole: Absolutely. Man, it sure is a tough one, but just to name a few: Rachel McAdams, Zac Efron, Will Smith, Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep, Ryan Gosling, and of course the entire cast of Friends.

HR: What types of roles do you see yourself in going forward?

Cole: My absolute favorite genre is romantic comedy. I would LOVE to work with some of my favorite actors in rom-coms. I would also LOVE to be a part of a TV series like Gossip Girl, or Friends.

HR: Is there anything you would consider to be your ‘dream role?’

Cole: Oh my, I would probably get made fun of for this, but quite frankly, my dream role has always been to do a movie like the Hannah Montana movie, The Cheetah Girls, the Lizzie Mcguire movie, or A Cinderella Story. I love chick flicks and any movie where I can sing, dance, and act ALL at once?? THAT for me is the ultimate dream. Directors looking for that, send em’ my way!

HR: I understand you recently moved to LA. How has that transition been for you?

Cole: As LA can get very lonely without your family, it was tough making the transition; however, it is great to be around so many more opportunities to pursue what I love — not to mention the incredible weather. I’ve made some amazing friends along the way that have made the transition that much easier as well.

HR: What’s life like in general for you these days?

Cole: Life has been great lately! Two movies that I have starred in recently were released, and I have been in the works of creating my very first album. My co-writer and I have written nearly three albums already and are just now looking for the perfect studio and engineer to make it all happen. It’s a pop-country album and I can not wait for the world to hear everything we’ve been working so hard on!

HR: If you had one piece of advice for someone walking in your footsteps, what would it be?

Cole: To do everything because you absolutely LOVE it and because it makes you genuinely happy. Never lose sight of who you are and always put God and family first along the way. NEVER give up what you know you were meant to do and always have courage and be kind to everyone you meet. Be supportive to others and lift each other up to achieve each others’ dreams. Life isn’t a race and every flower does not compete to the flower next to it…it just blooms.
