Mom Season 6, Episode 15 recap: A Valentine’s Day miracle
Hey #Momaholics! This week on Mom, it’s Valentine’s Day and everyone has plans but Christy and Bonnie, who decide to take the opportunity to have a mother daughter date.
Since Wendy is working, Jill is going on her first date with Andy, Tammy is hanging out with Yuri (the Uber driver), and Marjorie plans to order take out and watch Notting Hill, Christy has to deal with spending yet another Valentine’s Day alone. Taking pity on her single daughter, Bonnie offers to spend the evening with Christy.
Going to a fancy restaurant, the duo indulge in delicacies they wouldn’t normally eat. After sharing a few old stories Christy had never heard, Bonnie really begins to loosen up and enjoy the fun night they are having.
Christy, in her pessimistic yet sarcastic way, jokingly declares she’ll be alone forever and it’s all because of Bonnie. Taking it quite seriously, Bonnie disagrees and asks why she would joke around like that.
Jill and Andy, the cop who installed her security cameras, get to know each other over a drink while they wait for their table at a different upscale spot. Running into an old friend, Jill gets really nervous and slips up and tells her she isn’t on a date with Andy. Upset that she would do such a thing, Andy quickly gets out of there.
Tammy, who’s having a blast co-piloting for Yuri, relishes being in the company of a man again for the first time in seven years. But when things start getting hot and heavy, she fears that she isn’t ready. Tammy decides to call Marjorie to get some sage advice.

With it being the first Valentine’s Day since Victor’s death, one would expect Marjorie to be a mess, but she seems to be doing just fine. She attempts to enjoy her movie and dinner, but finds herself yielding calls from both Tammy and Wendy, who’s just checking in to make sure she’s doing alright. Jill even goes to her after the debacle with Andy, much to Marjorie’s displeasure.
Telling her to go to him to explain her actions, Marjorie finally gets Jill out of there, but not before Bonnie calls to get herself some advice.
When Christy gets back from smoking a cigarette, Bonnie follows what Marjorie said and gives her daughter the opportunity to air her grievances. Christy lets her have it and says the example Bonnie set for her growing up taught her that all men are going to leave eventually. She continues, saying this formed her world view and she doesn’t believe she’s ever been in love and never will be. Bonnie is upset to hear this, but acknowledges the role she played in this. Suggesting that Christy first learn to love and accept herself, Bonnie reaches out with a sincerity she has never shown before. Touched by the sentimental moment, Christy obliges her mother’s previous request that she fake propose in an attempt to score free dessert.
Jill shows up at Andy’s apartment door to tell him what was going through her head back at the restaurant. Saying she freaked out because this woman was always spreading rumors about her, Jill tries to patch thing up as best she can. But Andy just shakes his head and tells her he doesn’t want to be with someone who would ever be embarrassed to be seen with him.
Brushing off her hesitations with Yuri, Tammy lets her beau know she thinks things are moving too fast, and that she isn’t ready to be intimate. Yuri responds really well and tells Tammy he can’t wait to spend more time getting to know her. And just like that Tammy changes her mind and the two start getting frisky in the Uber.
With Wendy, Bonnie, Christy, and a crushed Jill arriving at her doorstep to decompress from their tumultuous nights, Marjorie gives up on ever being able to finish her flick. In another tender moment, Marjorie talks to Victor’s urn telling him not to worry because she’ll never be alone as long as she has her friends. Soon enough Tammy busts in letting everyone know that she did it with Yuri. Happy for her, all the woman lean in to let Tammy share what happened.
What did you think of this week’s episode of Mom? What a roller coaster, right? First of all, this episode was huge for Bonnie and Christy. They took some serious strides to repair their relationship. Thinking back to season one, I never would have seen this coming.
Who else is sad things didn’t work out between Andy and Jill? Hopefully, she will just move on and grow from the experience. Let us know what you want to see next week on Mom by joining the Twitter thread @HiddenRemote!
