Macy searches for the truth about her resurrection in Charmed Season 1, Episode 12. Meanwhile, Harry and Mel head to Manchester, England for some answers of their own.

After learning that she’d been brought back from the dead, Macy decided to take a dangerous step to get some answers. Meanwhile, Harry had news to break to the Charmed Ones but it turned into a trip to Manchester with Mel. Here’s everything that happened in Charmed Season 1, Episode 12.

As you would expect, this recap does include spoilers from the episode. It’s time to delve into the first episode since the second season renewal was confirmed.

A flashback of the past

More from CW

We start with a flash of the past, where Marisol released a Necromancer from Tartarus for a favor. She and Macy’s dad were willing to pay whatever the price (after all, a life for a life). Well, Marisol was. It was soon clear that Macy’s dad had no idea about everything to do with witches and isn’t all that convinced at the idea of a sacrifice.

It turns out that the sacrifice is that Macy’s parents have two years as a family but then Marisol can never see her daughter again. If she does, Macy will die. So, it all finally makes sense why Marisol gave up her daughter and took her feelings away. Finally, this is a storyline involving a mother abandoning a child that I can actually get behind.

Obviously, the parents did meet up at some point to have Maggie. We’ll get to that, I’m sure.

Harry deals with his truth

After learning that he had a son who survived an illness, Harry realized that he couldn’t be the sisters’ whitelighter. That means he needs to tell them somehow but only Mel responds to his message to meet him.

When Macy and Maggie text Mel about a problem, Harry tries to get her to them but instead orbs them to Manchester, England. It’s time for him to share the full truth with Mel and go in search for a few of his own answers (such as his own name and his son’s name). Mel helps him by searching the local parish for christening information, because all babies would have been christened then, and they get an address.

In the end, Harry realizes that his son is now a grandfather and looks happy. That’s enough for him to move on and remain the sisters’ whitelighter.

Macy meets the Necromancer

Macy finally got some answers of her own. After summoning the Necromancer that brought her back from the dead, a witch called Sid attacks. Sure enough, this Sid claims that the Necromancer turned the man she loved into a demon and that was why the Elders had imprisoned the Necromancer, Knancie (with a K), in Tartarus.

This Knancie woman made a deal with a demon for eternal youth in exchange to make people into demons. Anyone she resurrects, she uses demon blood to do so. Eventually, all those who are brought back will become demon.

It’s something Macy needs to fight. She also has a deal of her own to make. She offers to be Parker’s mother’s test subject. Parker’s mom needs to figure out how to take the demon out of Parker but she can do that by taking the demon out of Macy first.

Problems in relationships

Meanwhile, Niko and Mel start to get closer throughout the episode. Niko wants to meet at the coffee shop the two were in during the first episode, which certainly brings back some memories for Mel. Once all caught up, Mel realizes that she can’t be with Niko. Nothing has changed about the danger Niko would be in.

Maggie has her own relationship drama. Lucy gets Maggie to attend a frat party, which naturally puts Maggie and Parker in the same room together. The good news is that Parker is there to help deal with the Necromancer.

After preventing Macy from killing a witch with her powers (it turns out she can stop hearts with her mind), he stops Knancie from leaving and she attacks him with a hammer. The one thing Knancie was never allowed to do was attack a demon, so the demon she made a deal with kills her.

To give us a cliffhanger ending, Lucy is Skyping with Alaister of all people. He has Lucy under some sort of mind control, getting her to make sure Maggie falls in love with Parker. Once Lucy gets off the Skype call, she clearly doesn’t remember about it at all. This can never be good.
