We’re coming into an inevitable love rectangle with Callie, Jamie, Gael and Bryan on Good Trouble. How will this end?

Well, that certainly didn’t take long before a love rectangle developed. Beau Mirchoff reprised his role as Jamie Hunter on the third episode of Good Trouble, titled “Allies.” We all know how much he is into Callie as he guest-starred at the end of The Fosters three-episode series finale. I like Callie and Jamie together. They both have great chemistry together.

We can’t say the same about Callie and Gael, who are just having sex. There’s no chemistry between them. He’s bisexual, and she’s straight, so the series is trying to show that a straight person can date a bisexual and it’s normal. Television shows don’t have this kind of representation which is what makes Good Trouble groundbreaking. That’s what I love about both The Fosters and Good Trouble. However, the relationship needs to make sense and not force it to happen to send a message to the audience.

I looked at Freeform’s press website and saw three episodes focusing on the love rectangle. One of the episodes, titled “Swipe Right” (airs on February 19, 2019) will see Callie making a big decision regarding her relationship with Gael. I was wondering if she should dump him or not, but then I saw two future episodes coming up titled “Broken Arted” and “Re-Birthday,” and the descriptions have  Callie, Jamie, Gael and Bryan in them.

Check out the episode synopses, below:

Season 1, Episode 12: Broken Arted, premieres March 26, 2019:

"Gael’s art show brings together members of the Coterie for an evening that has emotions running high, especially amongst Gael, Bryan, Callie & Jamie."

Season 1, Episode 10: Re-Birthday, premieres March 12, 2019:

"It’s Davia’s birthday and the Coterie group goes out for an epic competitive bar-crawl, causing tensions to run high between the romantic “rectangle” of Callie, Jamie, Gael and Bryan; and a surprising run-in with Callie and Mariana’s brother, Brandon."

After reading these episode descriptions, it appears Callie didn’t dump Gael. Perhaps she has feelings for him and can’t let it go? Maia Mitchell spoke to Hollywood Life and stated the love connection might heat up between Callie and Gael. This makes sense, since the next two episodes of Good Trouble are where tensions run high between her and the guys.

It appears Bryan fears he will lose Gael to Callie. I’m not sure who she will choose – for all I know, this will continue onto the second season or more seasons to come, should Freeform renew the show for more seasons.

"“I think they’re both kind of trying to deny the depth that they’ve gotten to in their relationship,” Maia told HollywoodLife at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Feb. 5. “Whether or not they succeed in that, we’ll see. Callie’s a hopeless romantic, and Gael is amazing, but there is the complication of a third party, Brian, so it’s complicated and messy as are relationships in your early 20s.” Could it be love for these two? Maia is hopeful about that. “Yeah. I think so. I think they’re trying to deny that, but, yeah, I definitely feel a love connection,” Maia added."

Do you like this love rectangle? If so, who are you rooting for? If not, let us know why below.

Good Trouble airs Tuesday nights at 8/7c on Freeform.
