With the second season of Netflix’s The OA set to premiere on March 22, here are five major questions we have for the upcoming episodes.

After a two-year hiatus, The OA is coming back for its second season. Netflix announced that The OA would be returning on March 22, 2019, for its second season, titled, “Part II.” In addition to announcing the date of its return, Netflix also dropped a trailer for the new season.

Created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, Marling stars as Prairie Johnson, an adopted young woman who returns after a seven year hiatus. What’s weird is that Prairie now calls herself “The OA” and she regained her sight despite being blind before her disappearance. Prairie seeks the help of four high school students and a teacher in order to save her friends that are in captivity.

When we last saw Prairie, she was being transported to the hospital after being hit with a stray bullet from a school shooter. The final scene of the finale is a black screen with OA’s voice calling out for Homer (Emory Cohen), who she is trying to reunite with from her days in captivity.

After viewing the trailer, Part II looks to be even crazier and weirder than Part I.  Here are our five biggest questions for The OA Season 2.

Where is Prairie?

In the opening scene of the trailer, Prairie awakes in a hospital in what seems to be the fallout from her injury in the Season 1 finale. However, after Prairie states that the year is 2016 and the President is Barack Obama, the nurse looks at her with a confused face. Prairie has successfully jumped to a new dimension in San Francisco with a new life. What is this dimension and why is she there

Where is Hap and the other captives?

Although Prairie was released by her captor, Hap (Jason Isaacs), the other captives lead by Homer are still under Hap’s control. The trailer shows the group in a field performing the five movements, which means they are traveling to other dimensions. Where is Hap taking the crew and what are his intentions? Is Homer ok?

Who is Karim Washington and how can OA help him in his investigation?

In the 2016 San Francisco dimension, we are introduced to Karim Washington (Kingsley Ben-Adir), a private investigator who is looking into the disappearance of a missing teenager, Michelle Vu. When asked about the teenager, OA states it reminds her of someone she knew in Michigan. The missing teenager is connected to a house on Nob Hill. How can OA help Washington in his investigation? By the looks from things, all the dimensions are connected. The difficulty will be figuring out how.

How do BBA and the rest of the crew fit in to this plot?

Back in the other dimension, BBA (Phyllis Smith) and the boys survived the school shooting. However, now they want answers on where Prairie went. The trailer shows the crew taking a journey, which we can guess is to find out what happened to Prairie. How will Prairie end up reuniting with her friends? We can guess that BBA and the boys will play an important part into solving Prairie’s mystery.

Can Prairie travel back to the other dimensions?

Prairie is now in another dimension in San Francisco with a new name and luxury apartment. However, Homer, BBA, and the rest of her friends are still stuck in the other dimension. How can Prairie travel back to the other dimension to reunite with her friends? It it even possible to travel to a new dimension without partners to join her in the five movements?

Below is the official synopsis and trailer for Part II of The OA.

"The “mind-bending” story returns with The OA Part II, which follows OA as she navigates a new dimension, one in which she had a completely different life as a Russian heiress, and one in which she once again finds herself as Hap’s captive. Part II introduces Karim Washington, a private detective tasked with finding a missing teen, Michelle Vu. His path crosses with OA, as they try to solve the mystery of Michelle’s whereabouts and a house on Nob Hill connected to the disappearance of several teenagers. Meanwhile, back in the first dimension, BBA, Angie and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA’s story and the incredible realities she described."
