Sister Jo turned up in the Supernatural Season 14 premiere and hasn’t been seen since. Could she come back before the end of the season?

Supernatural Season 14 saw Sister Jo return, coming face-to-face with Michael!Dean. However, after making a phone call to Sam to let him know where Dean was, we haven’t seen him since. Is it time for her to make a return?

Every year, there always seems to be a character that is given the start of a storyline and then forgotten about. That’s the case for Sister Jo, this week. There was a chance to give her a storyline with Team Free Will 2.0 and then she’s just been cast aside.

Granted, this could have to do with scheduling. Danneel Ackles is a busy mom-of-three and lives in Texas with her family. She would have flown up to Vancouver for a short period of time and it would be difficult to keep her there for longer. There have been no hints of her returning to Vancouver in the last few weeks of filming, but that’s not to say it won’t actually happen. There’s a lot that remains secretive on the set of Supernatural.

Is there a storyline for Sister Jo right now? Well, maybe not right at this second but there could be coming up. This will depend on the next steps for Michael.

Right now, Michael is trapped in Dean’s head, but is that going to be the case for the rest of this season? This is a drama show. Surely, at some point, Michael needs to escape. And that could bring Sister Jo back into the story.

She doesn’t want the apocalypse to happen. Angels in this world have started to become more human, especially angels like Sister Jo, who have lived on Earth and made a life there. She wants a family and that’s weakness to Michael. So, to protect herself from his actions, she’s going to side with Team Free Will 2.0.

Should Michael get free, there’s the opportunity for Jo to spy for them. Whenever she hears of where he is, she could get a message to Sam, Cass, and whoever else is involved in the search.

This could also give the writer’s a chance to properly write the character out if they want. Sister Jo could make the ultimate sacrifice to stop Michael, setting up the crumbling of Heaven if she’s one of the last angels to be killed.
