Who are the most irritating characters on the HBO series Game of Thrones?

The fantasy epic Game of Thrones can’t be called anything less than a worldwide phenomenon. Based on the “A Song of Fire and Ice” series by George R.R. Martin, the show is set in a fictional world where zombies live over a huge ice wall while kings and queens’ squabble over an iron throne.

Part of the shows thrill comes from the colorful characters, from noble heroes to corrupt lords so awful the mere sight of them makes your blood boil even though you know they’re fictional. Even the boring characters manage to grip your attention long enough to wait out their monologues.

The dragons, walking corpses and the incredibly detailed story filled with overlapping foreshadowing and rich history are all good, but it’s the flawed semi-heroes that make it worthwhile. With over a hundred major characters and probably over a thousand minor characters, all of them which have a high body count, there is bound to be a few unfavorable ones, but which are the most irritating?

In a world full of lustful politicians and heartless murderers, who can possibly be the most annoying, irritating, all but detested character of the bunch? These are the most irritating characters of Game of Thrones.

Reason for (former) Annoyance: Sansa has come a long way from the naive little girl she was in the beginning. As the eldest daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark, Sansa was brought up to be a proper lady and enjoy the finer things in life.

The type of girl who would be awe-struck by Disney movies in modern times. It was this sweet naivety that made her unbearable in the beginning. She spent the first three seasons under someone’s control, cowering in their shadows.

While her siblings were starving in the woods, trapped on the wall, and fighting in wars, Sansa spent her days crying in Kings Landing. Despite how horrific her situation was (being betrothed to Joffery and losing everything you know is scary), it felt mild compared to what the others were going through. The other women of the court manipulated their way to better things, but Sansa chose the passive road and waited for a rescue party instead.

The poor girl suffered enough to finally wise up and in these past two seasons, Sansa has proved herself to be the rightful Queen of the North.
