If you were a fan of the original Roswell series, then you’ll be excited to know show star, Shiri Appleby, is going to be directing tonight’s episode of Roswell, New Mexico! What is “Songs About Texas” about? Well, as we know, Isobel has officially returned to the pod she emerged from all those years ago. It was the only solution they could come up with to try and save her life after the serum caused her cells to rot. The working theory is that by returning to stasis, her body will be able to heal.

In the meantime, Max and Michael will be working harder than ever to get more answers about their heritage. Based on photos and the episode synopsis, it looks like Max, Michael, Liz, and Maria will all be going on an impromptu road trip to Texas. There, they’re hoping to find a faith healer who may have answers for all of them.

For Max, he is still seeking answers to the alien symbol he has tattooed on his body. Given it keeps reappearing in Roswell, it’s about time we find out what it means.

Liz and Maria are hoping the faith healer may have a cure for Maria’s mother. It’s not clear if Mimi DeLuca (who is played by guest star Sherri Saum) will be in this episode or not. The last time we saw Maria’s mother, her mental health was getting increasingly worse, to the point Mimi had to put her in a home so she could have around-the-clock care.

Even though the Texas trip sounds like it’s geared more towards business than pleasure, photos from the episode show Maria getting on stage to sing (the title is “Songs About Texas”).

I can’t think of a single character on this show who doesn’t deserve a night out to blow off steam, so I’m hoping this photo means the whole gang might get to have a few drinks and have fun together while supporting Maria. I’ve never heard Heather Hemmens sing but I’m looking forward to it!

Not everyone is going on this mini-trip. Back in Roswell, Alex and Kyle will be working together to find out more about Sergeant Manes master plan. Sorry to Alex/Michael fans, if one is in New Mexico and the other is in Texas, I’m guessing they won’t have many scenes this week but it’ll be nice to see more familial bonding between Kyle and his cousin!
