Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser: Just a tease or footage of the end?

Another Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser is out. Could it just be a tease of what could happen or is it footage of the end of the battle? It’s clear this season is going to be traumatic.

HBO has dropped its latest Game of Thrones Season 8 tease. What we can’t tell is whether this is going to be real footage from the series or whether it’s just a tease of what could happen — a tease to leave us worried about the fates of everyone. One thing is clear: this season will be traumatic.

The one-minute-11-seconds tease shows us a snow-covered Winterfell, left in ruins. Some sort of battle has happened and there are hints that nobody has survived. Yet, if this is the footage after the battle, this would mean almost everyone in the North is gone.

At strategic points, there are items of individuals left behind. Tyrion’s pin, Needle, Jaime’s hand, and a dragon chain. They’re all strategically placed around the abandoned and destroyed Winterfell. There are even flashes to the past, with the feather Robert left on Lyanna’s tomb flying off a wall and into the air.

The tease could hint that everyone is about to die. However, Game of Thrones has always liked to play with our emotions. Remember during that whole break between Seasons 5 and 6 when we didn’t know if Jon Snow would be brought back to life? This could be another one of those moments, where it’s made to look like everyone will die but only a handful will.

It could also just be a hint that Winterfell needs to be abandoned. The Night King’s army is heading south and Winterfell is going to be one of the first ports of call, especially with Bran (his broken wheelchair sat in the snow, by the way) as the Three-Eyed Raven.
