Supernatural Season 14, Episode 18 sneak peek: Castiel finally tells the Winchesters the truth

Secrets are out in Supernatural Season 14, Episode 18. The sneak peek gives us a glimpse of the tensions rising between Dean and Castiel.

Every season, Dean falls out with someone, right? He struggles to deal with secrets that he knew nothing about and the Supernatural Season 14, Episode 18 sees him learn about the new one. It isn’t surprising to learn that Dean and Castiel may not be on speaking terms by the end of next week’s episode.

The sneak peek shows us Castiel finally telling the Winchesters the truth about Jack. As he admitted to Sister Jo/Anael, he’s suspected that Jack no longer has any of his soul left. Quite honestly, it was a suspicion we’d had for a while, but now it was confirmed. And Castiel has been sitting on this secret for a while.

During the sneak peek, Dean learns that Castiel has known something is wrong for a while. One question I have is why Dean and Sam didn’t realize Felix (the snake) was gone before this point? Had they not wondered why Jack hadn’t been trying out all sorts of foods, including bacon?

Also, why didn’t Dean put his phone on speaker? Poor Sam was just left out of the loop, waiting for Dean to fill in the blanks. Isn’t it about time speakerphone was used? If Jack was in the bunker I could understand wanting to keep the call private, but it was already made clear that Jack and Mary were out — in some unknown location.

Anyway, secrets will be out in Episode 18. Titled “Absence,” whose absence will we be feeling? Is this all about the absence of the soul or the absence of a person due to loss?
