NCIS deals with an active shooter at the hospital, someone from Jack’s past is a witness, and it looks like one of the team may be put at risk.

NCIS certainly likes to throw us some curveballs every season. As we get towards the end of Season 16, we know that lives are going to be at risk. One of those lives is at risk tonight in “Perennial.”

For those who just want to know how to watch live, scroll to the very bottom of this post. Otherwise, we’ll take a look at the promo and synopsis, along with a couple of sneak peeks released.

More from CBS

It all starts with the synopsis, which tells us there’s an active shooting at a Naval hospital. If that isn’t enough stress, Jack’s past comes back, although not in the way it did last season. We’ll get a chance to see her interact with someone from her past who is a witness in the shooting. Is this person only going to be a witness?

What’s more concerning is the way that Torres goes into a building alone. He doesn’t seem to question Gibbs; decision at first, but someone does after the fact. While off-duty, McGee brings up that Gibbs sent Torres in alone and into a dangerous situation. That isn’t like Gibbs unless he fully trusted that one of his guys would make it out alive.

Of course, this could be some good cutting and a red herring. There’s a chance that Torres isn’t the one they’re talking about, but I can’t think of who else they could be.

Meanwhile, the sneak peeks give us another insight. Remember one of the takeaways from last week was that Bishop had offered to take over the clearing out of Ziva’s stuff? Well, that seems to be happening in this episode. One of the things Bishop wants to do is save a plant — one that doesn’t seem to stand a chance — and it looks like one from Xiva’s secret rented office space.
