Mom Season 6, Episode 21 recap: Christy’s new gig
Hey #Momaholics! This week on Mom, Christy starts her new law firm job while Bonnie works through some things with her therapist.
Bonnie and Adam start the morning off with a fight over the former’s procrastination problem on Mom. After finally getting up to move her old car, but forgetting to turn off the snooze, Bonnie discovers Christy waiting in the living room, ready for the first day of her new job at a law firm. Deciding to help her mom out, Christy goes to move the car for her but is cautious of anything going wrong.
At her appointment with Trevor (special guest star Rainn Wilson), Bonnie and her therapist go back and forth about the two-car situation but never come to a consensus. Meanwhile, Christy finds out her position at the firm is pure intern grunt work. The two come together over a meal at the bistro with Wendy, Marjorie, Jill, and Tammy to vent about their situations.

The next day, Bonnie wakes up late and gets a ticket, inspiring her to go out there and sell her car. This task proved harder to complete than Bonnie thought as she found herself doing a variety of errands and projects instead.
At the restaurant, Christy struggles to stay focused on waitress duties because the law firm keeps bugging her over an update in an important case. Making the decision to leave the restaurant, Christy is embarrassed to find out the firm’s first request of her is to go back there and pick up their to-go order.
The ladies find themselves at a meeting that night and the topic on everyone’s mind is completing things they’ve been putting off. Seeing this as an attack on her procrastination habit, Bonnie gets up and leaves to go figure it out with Trevor. While he is disappointed she hasn’t sold the car yet, Trevor believes Bonnie refuses to get rid of it because she doesn’t want to completely let go of the old her.

While making copies, Christy notices something in a case that could be improved upon. Telling her coworker about this one precedent they should be citing, Christy feels pretty proud of herself. The coworker thanks her then goes on to take credit for the idea himself.
Over at the Plunkett’s, Bonnie is finalizing some paper work to sell her car to some young guy named Owen who saw an ad online. When she finds out he was planing on pushing it off a cliff for a student film, Bonnie rips up the check and demands the keys back. This drives Bonnie to confess to Adam what she and Trevor have talked about at her appointments.
Over dinner at the bistro, Christy shares how excited she is about contributing on a higher level at the law firm, even if she didn’t get credit. Remembering that Tammy talked about getting her license earlier that week, Bonnie get the bright idea to sell the car to her for $1. Thinking this will solve her problem of finding a person who would take care of “her,” Bonnie hands the keys over to the ever-deserving Tammy.
That night, Bonnie has a bizarre and realistic dream about her therapist. After bragging about solving her problem, Bonnie makes a moves on Trevor. Waking up startled, it dawns on her what he meant by “transference.”
