Mom Season 6, Episode 22 Recap: Here comes the bride
Hey #Momaholics! This week on Mom, Bonnie and Adam decide to finally walk down the aisle, the only problem is, where will the big occasion be?
Following is a recap of the Season 6 finale of CBS’ Mom. If you need a refresher on what happened last week, check out the link here, otherwise, read on.
On their way to Reno to buy a vintage jukebox for Adam’s bar, Bonnie begins to get nervous that they could be getting scammed. Adam takes the opportunity to ask Bonnie, since his business is getting steady traffic now, if she wants to set a date for their wedding. Insisting she’d do it at any time, Bonnie dares Adam to pull over at the next wedding chapel, which he does, and they’d do the deed then and there, which they did.
While setting things up for a meeting, everyone cheers for Christy when she arrives, since it happens to be her birthday/sobriety anniversary. Nora arrives in a happy mood, and she quickly cheers up Tammy who is venting to Jill about Marjorie’s note-leaving habit. After exchanging cards with Christy, Nora sits her down to tell her that she’s moving to Minnesota for a new job. Crushed, Christy spends the rest of the meeting brooding and thinking about how everyone leaves her.

Over two lasagnas (one from both Marjorie and Wendy) at the Plunkett residence, Jill and Tammy, along with the aforementioned duo, try to talk down Christy who is worked up over Nora’s sudden departure. Everyone takes turns trying to get to her, but nothing seems to work. Then comes in Adam and Bonnie who announce to everyone the good news, which only makes Christy feel worse.
The next day, Christy, Marjorie, Tammy, Wendy, and Jill go shopping for wedding gifts, but they struggle to stay on task. Taking turns expressing how disappointed they are that Bonnie and Adam got hitched without them, the mood is clearly sour. That night at a meeting, Christy spends her share at AA expressing how angry she is, in front of everyone, including Bonnie.
Later, Christy apologizes to her mom, saying that she is more hurt than anything. Bonnie, trying to defend herself, assumed no one would care that they weren’t there. The two then have a tender moment, with Christy begging that she “be the next one to get married.” Going back to the bedroom, Bonnie and Adam discuss having another wedding, but this time who one is getting left out.
The next day, everyone congregates at the bar for a surprising cute and impromptu wedding ceremony. Christy walked Bonnie down the aisle, Marjorie officiated, and Wendy played the recorder. At the reception, Bonnie and Adam have their first dance to Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” off the new jukebox. During the dance, Christy takes the moment to ask Marjorie if she’d be her sponsor again, which she hastily accepts. The gang then spends the rest of the evening dancing and celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Plunkett-Janikowski.
Well, another Season of Mom has come and gone. What were your favorite moments? I enjoyed seeing Christy in class, she was always so awkward. Seeing Adam develop his business from flop to smashing success was great to see, after all he has been through, too. Any predictions for Season 7?
