We are still recovering from having to say goodbye to some of our favorite shows after networks mercilessly axed several over the past week. Here are five we wish we could revive.

Were you as heartbroken as we were as ABC, Fox, and the other networks began to cancel some of our favorites? Welcome to the club! It’s always sad to see the finale of a series we love come to an end, whether it’s a comedy, mystery, or drama. However, we are all prepared (or should be) for a show to end at some point, no matter how much we love it.

Sure, the series can go on for 10 seasons, such as The Walking Dead is and many others, but eventually, all good things come to an end. The difference here is, these shows didn’t end willingly or because the time was right. These have all been cancelled. And that’s what makes it sting more.

To make matter worse, most cancelled shows don’t see the bad news coming or have finished filming a season before they notice ratings taking a nosedive. Therefore, we are left with loose ends and unanswered questions we will never get the answers to. Not to mention, many cancelled shows are great, just underrated and hidden gems. Many simply need a different time slot to get the attention they deserve.

With all that said, here are five shows we believe should not have been cancelled:

Splitting Up Together

Due to recent ratings, ABC’s comedy Splitting Up Together had it coming. Of course, that doesn’t make it any easier to see it go, but at least it didn’t come as a surprise to many.

The comedy starred Jenna Fischer and Oliver Hudson. If you ask me, Splitting Up Together had a lot of potential. There aren’t many lighthearted family comedies nowadays like this one. It deserved another chance.

Whiskey Cavalier

Guy, this one hurt. Yes, the declining ratings was a huge sign a cancellation was coming, but after only one season? At least increase the promotion efforts and perhaps offer the series another time slot. With Lauren Cohan as the star, why was the crime-drama so underrated?

I feel especially bad for Cohan, who obviously took this role to try something new outside of The Walking Dead. Better luck next time, she’s a great actress.

For the People

The ABC network showed For the People no mercy, announcing its cancellation as the penultimate episode was airing. How are we supposed to fully enjoy a series we know is ending? Thankfully, though, the season finale was fantastic and wraps up series nicely.

The Passage

Well, at least we can’t say FOX didn’t give The Passage a fair shot, it very well did. Why didn’t many people tune in to watch The Passage? It had everything! Mystery and suspense, drama, heart, and diversity. The series was based on a series of novels, so book fans in particular were especially disappointed not to see the series continue.

Santa Clarita Diet

Okay, now this one hurts and I did not see coming — especially because Netflix doesn’t release any numbers. Santa Clarita Diet is the comedy I turned in to watch to escape the intense dramas and just life in general. Then, out of nowhere, just after binging the latest season and left with such a big cliffhanger, I learn the streaming giant cancels it. Needless to say, fans took to Twitter to riot, but it hasn’t been of any use, unfortunately.
