The Lonely Island Presents: The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience, which has caught us all by surprised, is now streaming on Netflix.

When The Lonely Island revealed via Twitter they had something dropping on Netflix at midnight, fans didn’t know what to expect! All that was revealed in the vague post, that only reads “midnight,” was a short clip that reads: A Lonely Island Visual Poem. We were of course immediately sold.

Stars like Elizabeth Banks and Busy Philipps hyped up our excitement by also going to Twitter to post about it. Well, it’s out!  The Lonely Island Presents: The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience is now streaming on Netflix and we have everything you need to know about it!

The Lonely Island’s visual poem is a collection of thematically-linked music videos, over 7 of them, following the lives of Jose Canseco (Andy Samberg) and Mark McGwire (Akiva Schaffer). The duo are two Oakland baseball players from the 1980s.

In the first sequence, they introduce each other in one of the most amusing songs in the collection. Bash Brothers also features appearances from Jorma Taccone, Hannah Simone, Sterling K. Brown, Jenny Slate, Maya Rudolph, and more!

Netflix has The Unauthorized Bash Brothers  experience categorized under Absurd and Raunchy, which hilariously fits it perfectly. But this is what you expect from The Lonely Island.

Announcing the drop of this presentation just hours before its release is part of the experience as it is best to go at it blind. In fact, you shouldn’t have read any of the above and just open Netflix and enjoy!

The experience is even more fun when you learn Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire are real people and known as the Bash Brothers. The duo are no longer friends, though. Will this 30 minute visual poem help the two reconcile?
