Ranking all three Black Mirror Season 5 episodes from crazy to insane
By Sandy C.
Netflix has released the latest season of Black Mirror, dropping all three episodes June 5. Let’s rank them from crazy to insane!
From the start several years ago, Netflix’s anthology series, Black Mirror, has blown our minds with the episode’s bizarre concepts and sci-fi ideas. Each season, the series never fails to leave us deep in our thoughts. But while some episodes are disturbing enough to cause us to have trouble sleeping, others warm up our cold hearts!
Yes, I’m referring to the very popular episode “San Junipero” and “Hang the DJ.” Black Mirror Season 5, however, skips the romance and tender scenes. Unfortunately, it also skips out on intense drama and chills — with the exception of one episode. Let’s just say the latest season isn’t our favorite, but one episode in particular sticks out so much, it ranks high on the overall favorite Black Mirror episodes.

We’ve been waiting a long time for this season, especially after dealing with the interactive film Bandersnatch not many fans seemed to enjoy. With only three episodes announced, we were truly rooting for quality over quantity here — and that was a fail.
Two of the episodes didn’t live up to the hype, but one surpasses it so much we may just forgive the entire season.
Critics over at Rotten Tomatoes have given the season a fresh rating, and, as predicted, our favorite episode is also theirs. You likely already know which one I’m referring too, it has, after all, taken over Twitter and other social media platforms. Let’s get to it!
Before the episodes debuted, I ranked them based on the trailers. “Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too” was No. 3, “Striking Vipers” No. 2, and “Smithereens” No. 1 intriguing me the most. My predictions were terrible. Lesson learned, don’t judge an episode by its trailer!
