iZombie recap: Is Ravi or Liv the ultimate closer?
Liv meets her father in iZombie Season 5, Episode 8. At the same time, she and Ravi consume the brain of a hated car salesman. Here’s everything that happened.
iZombie Season 5, Episode 8 picks up where the last episode left, with Liv outside her father’s house. He doesn’t argue about her being his daughter and seems to want a relationship with her. Just how easy will it be playing happy families when they believe in different things within the zombie-human war?
Of course, that’s not the main focus on the episode. It’s all about the death of a car salesman, which puts Liv and Ravi against each other as they try to sell the most raffle tickets and solve the case first. You know this is the episode you’ve been waiting for.

The brain of the week starts with the death of a car salesman. He was hated by everyone but a good closer, which is why Liv and Ravi end up going head-to-head after both consuming his brain.
Poor Clive. All he wants to do is figure out who killed the salesman, and it’s Vampire Steve who figures out that the guy’s car computer was hacked and drove him off the bridge. He’ll need to get access to the main computer to figure out who it was exactly.
While dealing with the case, Ravi is working on protecting those with the zombie-cure brains. One of those teens is in Seattle. Unfortunately, by the time he rings the number, Darcy has already dropped out of college. But we already knew that, right?

Major and Peyton attempt to save Seattle
In an attempt to save Seattle, Major and Peyton get all the important people from the country in the city to talk to them about a plan. What if zombies could live elsewhere — on the Zombie Island that was a previous plan before Chase Graves took over.
If only it could all be that simple. Those in charge aren’t too convinced that zombies could live anywhere peacefully. General Mills also isn’t that happy that his daughter isn’t around.
Of course, the summit was never going to go ahead without a problem. After one of the former Filmore Graves zombies scratches the doctor who will do the final checkup on the PTB, the doctor scratches the senator and other delegates. There’s going to be a zombie on the outside and you know this is just going to push the war forward.
Blaine continues in the smuggling game
While living in Mom E’s basement, Blaine tries to lay low after his brush with the law. However, he’s not just chilling and enjoying life. Blaine has a new plan brewing. That shouldn’t be all that surprising considering he paid Darcy for her brain.
First, Blaine needs some smuggler contacts, so he reaches out to a guy he knew. This guy is out of the smuggling business and now pushes drugs, but he still has contacts and with the price Blaine is willing to pay, the guy is more than happy to make some calls.
That plan is to send a few guys out to an all-girls school. With an extra $10k each, they’re happy to deal with this morally questionable situation.
Odds and ends:
- It’s not all happy families for Liv and Martin, but there’s more to this then meets the eye.
- Clive clearly doesn’t like being called “Lieutenant” but is that because he doesn’t like the title or because he feels like he’s stepping on Dale’s shoes?
- We finally see how the initial drugs with the zombie virus got out. We can thank Martin for that!
- Seeing Liv and Ravi go head-to-head trying to “close” everything was perfect! It was even better when the two ended up tying as the ultimate closer!
- Don E falls for Darcy and she’s interested in him. I just want them to get some sort of happy ending, even though I know it can’t happen.
