Bob’s Burgers: Which Season 4 episode is most underrated?

facebooktwitterreddit

Season 4 of Bob’s Burgers premiered all the way back in 2013 but some episodes are still as popular 6 years later but which episode doesn’t get enough love?

The further we move into the Bob’s Burgers backlist, the tougher this list gets. It’ll only get harder as the weeks go by. For now, the focus is on season 4 and in some ways, it feels like an extension of season 3. While it didn’t pick up where season 3 left off, season 4 improved upon season 3 while still sticking with the same themes of the previous season.

A running theme is that the series always has a few standout episodes, maybe 1 or 2 bad but is mostly made up of good episodes. With each season, the series has a handful of underrated episodes. Since the series is on hiatus, what better time to look through each season and find the most underrated episode?

Before reading ahead, there will be spoilers for Bob’s Burgers. You will be spoiled for season 4 if you haven’t yet watched. As per all these lists, this is only my opinion. If you don’t agree, feel free to share your thoughts or what episode you consider the most underrated from the said season.

As previously mentioned, season 4 is similar to season 3. In season 4, the show kept the magic but took a few more risks. The show featured a new “holiday” episode along with producing its first 2-part episode and its first trilogy episode. Season 4 took some risks and thankfully, those risks paid off for Bob’s Burgers cast and crew. With such an exciting season, it’s hard to narrow down the underrated episodes.

More from FOX

I’d be remiss to not mention both “The Frond Files,” the trilogy episode which is cited as one of the show’s best and “Wharf Horse/World Wharf II: The Wharfening” which is the 2-parter. As good as both episodes are, neither are underrated. Both get a decent amount of episode especially the latter as it’s still the show’s only 2-part episode. Either way, these two deserve a shoutout.

An episode that’s underrated yet memorable is “Easy Com-mercial, Easy Go-mercial.” This is the unofficial Bob’s Burgers Super Bowl episode and its one that doesn’t get enough love. The episode is about the family having a commercial during the Super Bowl and the shenanigans that go along with it. With a guest performance by Jordan Peele, the episode is fun and a great alternative if you’re not a football fan.

Another memorable episode is “My Big Fat Greek Bob.” The episode features Bob as he gets hired to cook for a frat house and the shenanigans he and the kids get into. “My Big Fat Greek Bob” does a great job of bringing back a character we otherwise forgot about and puts together an intricate plot with him. In terms of underrated episodes, this one ranks pretty high but doesn’t get the top spot.

Narrowing down an underrated episode for season 4 was tough. There are a lot of great contenders so I’d like to include a few honorable mentions: “A River Runs Through Bob,” “Purple Rain-Union” and “Slumber Party.” Each of these episodes is great but didn’t hold a candle to the first episode that came to my mind.

Next. Bob's Burgers: The funniest Bob and Teddy moments. dark

The most underrated episode of season 4 is “Uncle Teddy.” The main plotline of the episode is Teddy watching the kids while Bob and Linda are at a burger convention. This episode is severely underrated especially since we don’t get many Teddy-centric episodes. It does a great job of showcasing his relationship with the kids and showing us exactly how much Teddy considers the Belchers his family. It’s an incredibly relatable as almost all of us have friends that we consider family and it’s nice to feel appreciated by them as Teddy does with the Belchers.

Do you think “Uncle Teddy” is an underrated episode? Which season 4 episode would you have picked? Be sure to let me know in the comments!
