Season one of In the Dark wrapped up with an explosive finale last week. It’ll be a while before we get to season two, but we’re bursting with questions.

In the Dark was a midseason premiere for The CW. Season two will not air until winter 2020 at the earliest. That is a long time to wait considering how many big questions the finale left open-ended.

Beware, the following article contains major spoilers for the entire season of In the Dark. Do not read until you’ve watched the finale.

With Dean hospitalized and the case of Tyson’s murder officially closed, In the Dark opened up a new can of worms. Murphy is Nia’s newest money launderer, and that means Guiding Hope is now a front.

And with Dean surely going to prison, Chloe is left to fend for herself, Darnell still sits behind bars, and Jules might be out of the picture – for good. Here are some of the burning questions we most need to be answered when In the Dark returns.

5. What’s going to happen to Darnell?

Poor Darnell. He did care for Tyson. The only thing Darnell did wrong was get involved in Nia’s operation. Dean set Darnell up to take the fall for Tyson’s murder.

I bet Murphy feels pretty guilty about the way she left things with him. With Dean apprehended, it can only be a matter of time before Darnell is set free. Is he going to remain on as part of season two?

Will the series address his freedom? I hope so. I would hate for his fate to be left up in the air.
