Bob’s Burgers: Which Season 6 episode is most underrated?

Bob’s Burgers Season 6 gave us arguably one of the show’s best episodes, but which episode takes the cake for being the best of the rest?

As this series trucks along, choosing an underrated episode gets tougher. When looking back at earlier seasons, things can seem a little fuzzy. The closer we get to recent Bob’s Burgers episodes, the tougher it is to choose. Looking at Season 6, Bob’s Burgers gave us what might be their best episode yet albeit not an underrated one but let’s get into it.

A running theme is that the series always has a few standout episodes, maybe one or two bad but is mostly made up of good episodes. With each season, the series has a handful of underrated episodes. Since the series is on hiatus, what better time to look through each season and find the most underrated episode?

Before getting into this series, there will be spoilers for Bob’s Burgers. This week is all about Season 6 so you will be spoiled if you haven’t watched the season. As per all these lists, this is only my opinion. If you don’t agree, feel free to share your thoughts or what episode you consider the most underrated from the said season.

More from FOX

Similar to the previous seasons, Season 6 has a milestone attached to it. The finale of Season 6 was the show’s 100th episode. As far as memorable episodes go, “Glued, Where’s My Bob?” is easily one of the most memorable Bob’s Burgers episodes. In what Loren Bouchard described as a “quintessential” episode, “Glued, Where’s My Bob?” featured Bob excited about a magazine interview until he gets “gooped” by the kids and ends up stuck on the toilet.

“Glued, Where’s My Bob?” seems like it was everything Bouchard and fans wanted including being a memorable episode. Season 6 gave us a few other memorable episodes including “The Horse Rider-er” and “Bye Bye Boo Boo.” However, a majority of Season 6 is full of underrated episodes, making it tough to pick just one.

Thankfully, there are few to discuss before getting to my pick. First up is “Pro Tiki/Con Tiki.” A later Season 6 episode, “Pro Tiki/Con Tiki” introduces us to Warren Fitzgerald, an old rich friend of Bob who wants to makeover the restaurant. What seems like a good idea quickly turns into hell for Bob. It’s funny to watch the restaurant change so much but the episode does a great job of showing how much Bob truly cares.

Another underrated episode is “Sexy Dance Healing.” Bob gets injured after falling due to Jairo’s carelessness and tries to sue before Jairo agrees to help him get better. It’s nice to see Jairo back if only for an episode and for Bob to relax a bit. Before getting to the most underrated episode, there are a few others worth mentioning: “Secret Admiral-irer,” “Gayle Makin’ Bob Sled” and “Lice Things Are Lice.”

With the honorable mentions out of the way, my most underrated season 6 episode is “Sacred Couch.” Even though the family couch is falling apart, Linda refuses to get rid of it so Louise takes action to “get rid of it”, resulting in the family going to Sofa Queen and finding a replacement. Eventually, Louise realizes her mistake and works to get the couch back.

Very rarely does Bob’s Burgers feature such a heart-warming episode especially focused on Linda. This episode will speak to any mother or family member who has dealt with losing something that held a lot of memories. It might not be a “quintessential” episode but “Sacred Couch” hits that sweet spot between the heart and humor of Bob’s Burgers without being too over-the-top.

Do you think “Sacred Couch” is an underrated episode? If not, which Season 6 episode do you think is most underrated? Be sure to let me know in the comments!
