There’s no denying that Stranger Things is a hit amongst fans of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. But it’s also a winning series because of it’s 80’s nostalgia. Anyone who loves the 80s can surely appreciate all of the ads, TV and movie references, and music the series has to offer.
Stranger Things 3 has delivered another inter-dimensional story in the small town of Hawkins, and the creators made sure to load every episode with 80’s pop culture. The greatest part is that the season takes place during 1985 a seriously big year for movies.

It’s the year of the most recognized 80’s sci-fi film of all time, Back to the Future. It’s also the same year that most of the movie classics associated with the 80s were released such as The Breakfast Club, The Goonies, Weird Science, and Rocky IV, to name a few.
But since the film takes place during the summer of 85, The Duffer brothers couldn’t include everything they may have wanted since there were movies that premiered later on in the year.
