Veronica Mars spoilers: Who was the bomber in the revival?

For eight episodes, Veronica Mars took us through the mystery of a bomber. Who would the bomber turn out to be? Spoilers ahead!

The Veronica Mars revival was everything we needed and more. For eight episodes, we were taken through a Neptune mystery, which all started with a bombing. So, who would the bomber end up being?

We’re getting straight into the spoilers for the Veronica Mars Season 4 finale. If you haven’t watched the finale, you need to play out the mystery first!

In the penultimate episode of the revival, Keith and Veronica solved the mystery. The pizza boy Penn was the one responsible for the bombings.

That’s the way it seemed, right? During the finale, they started second-guessing things. Not all the bombings were the same. The first one at the motel and the one on the party boy on the beach didn’t include the nails that the other bombs did. Were there two bombers?

It turned out there were three bombs. If you thought Big Dick was the bomber, then you’d be right. The one at the motel was him, as he wanted to drive the prices for the real estate on the Boardwalk down to get that motel. In the end it all failed, and the Mexican cartel guys got the revenge against the nephew of their boss by killing Big Dick.

That still leaves a few bombs. The one that involved the party boy on the beach? That turned out to be linked to the other bombs, despite the lack of nails. It turned out the frat boys had been involved in some sort of hazing in the past. A few years back, they’d forced a pizza man in the ocean and thought they’d killed him.

That pizza man? Everything pointed to Penn. At one point, it looked like it could have been the guy who was Skyping into the murder groups, the one working in Washington D.C. He wasn’t in D.C. after all, but it certainly wasn’t him. Penn had found a way to frame someone else.

If only Veronica wasn’t smarter than him? In fact, Matty was the one to help figure out the final clues, along with Keith. The three of them made an excellent team.

So, apart from the motel bombing, which was definitely Big Dick, the bomber was Penn.
