A new month means there’s an all-new menu of shows and movies debuting August 2019 only on Netflix! Here are 10 movies and TV shows not to miss.

Netflix rolls out new content weekly, but we are always the most excited when a new month arrives. This is because, though the streaming giant is very secretive, a list of upcoming programs and movies is released for fans to prepare. Again, Netflix likes to keep many things under wraps, so expect to see more than what they reveal.

Whether you are seeking thrills, laughs, action or a little bit of everything, Netflix has what you need! We’re presenting 5 movies and 5 series you need to watch in August 2019. But don’t worry, if anything else drops unexpectedly, we’ll be sure to let you know!

For a list of everything (so far) leaving and coming to Netflix, check here. Otherwise, read on for our top 10 recommendations.

1. The Red Sea Diving Resort

Available July 31

More from Netflix

This isn’t an August release, but we are including it here anyway because it just premiered today (Wednesday, July 31) and it’s the middle of the week! If you are waiting until the weekend, as most Netflix viewers do, watch The Red Sea Diving Resort!

The movie stars Chris Evans, Michael Kenneth Williams, Chris Chalk, Greg Kinnear, and Ben Kingsley. The Red Sea Diving Resort follows a group of international agents and brave Ethiopians who help smuggle refugees to Israel. The team is led by Ari Levinson (Evans) and Kabede Bimro (Williams).

2. Otherhood

Available Aug. 2

Another Netflix original to keep an eye out for and one of the first movies this August is Otherhood. The movie stars Angela Bassett, Patricia Arquette, and Felicity Huffman as three mom friends who decide to drive together to New York and reconnect with their adult children. It’s a journey of rediscovery everyone can relate to — not just moms, as relationships between friends and spouses are explored, too.

3. In the Shadow of the Moon

Available Aug. 9

Every nine years, a serial killer returns and always manages to escape. Desperate to find him, Philadelphia police officer Thomas Lockhart (Boyd Holbrook) is determined to become a detective and bring the killer to justice. It’s not long, however, before he becomes obsessed with the case to the point that it may destroy his life. The movie also stars Michael C. Hall and Cleopatra Coleman.

4. Sextuplets

Available Aug. 16

Marlon Wayans, Michael Tiddes, and Rick Alvarez present Sextuplets, a comedy that follows Alan, a soon-to-be father who recently learned he has multiple siblings after always believing he was an only child.

5. Falling Inn Love

Available Aug. 29

Each month, Netflix has to have a romantic comedy! And, in August, that movie is Falling Inn Love. After winning an inn, Gabriela (Christina Milian) finds it’s not the dream come true she believed it would be. Her plan is to fix it, sell it, and move back home ASAP. But is love going to change her mind?
