Bob’s Burgers: 5 shows to binge if you’re missing the Belchers
5. King Of The Hill
The first show to make this list should be no surprise to fans of Bob’s Burgers. King of the Hill might have premiered in 1997 but still remains timely as it was over 20 years ago. Regardless, the show still continues to cultivate a vast and extremely dedicated fanbase. There are a few reasons why it’s perfect for fans of Bob’s Burgers, though.

One of the main reasons is because Jim Dauterive served as a writer and producer for King of The Hill. Dauterive would later go on to work with Loren Bouchard to develop and write Bob’s Burgers. Obviously, there are going to be a pretty of an overlap when it came to the two series and part of that is because of Dauterive. Considering how much they’ve been compared, it’s clear that the Dautervie connection is there.
Another similarity between Bob’s Burgers and King of the Hill is that they’re both family sitcoms. King of the Hill follows Hank Hill as he tries to deal with his eccentric family and the same can be said about Bob Belcher. The humor in these shows is similar, too as they both focus on jokes made at the expense of the titular character, the kids or the mundane parts of life.
Where the two shows are similar, there are some vast differences in which King of the Hill is grounded more in reality, features more political humor and Hank Hill isn’t as accepting of a father as Bob is. If you like the writing and familial themes from Bob’s Burgers, then King of the Hill could be a good show to try and marathon before the Belchers come back.
