Whether you watched 13 Reasons Why this weekend or not, the comments on Ani online were tough to miss. Why all the hate?

Actress Grace Saif, who portrays Ani Achola in the latest season of 13 Reasons Why on Netflix, was probably not expecting all the hate on her character. But that appears to have been the main focus all weekend. Did you jump on the hate-on-Ani train or were you onboard from the beginning?

Ani is a new student at Liberty High and she was not welcomed by her peers or the series audience. The latest character also serves as the narrator this season, but her actions in the series and overall attitude just struck the wrong cord with audiences, and for good reason!

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t watched the lastest 13 Reasons Why season, please note there are significant spoilers ahead. Or, perhaps, you’re only here to see why Ani was trending online all weekend, but don’t intend on watching the series. Either way, spoiler alert!

More from Netflix

No one should even begin to try humanizing Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice), guys, he’s a rapist. But this is exactly what Ani does all season and that, if you ask me, is reason enough to put her on the bad list. Some characters (humans in general) deserve no redemption, and as most fans would agree, Bryce fits the bill.

On top of this, as if we need another reason, Ani is simply not very pleasant.

The intended focus and main plot this season is clearly Bryce Walker and finding out who kills him, but Ani took all the attention. Check out some of the best tweets we found, below:
