BH90210 Season 1: 5 most shocking moments from episode 5
By Reed Gaudens
Ahead of the season finale, BH90210 brings back a surprise guest star as David and Donna’s first roll in the sheets has Tori freaking out.
It’s been a whirlwind summer with BH90210, but the nostalgic fun comes to an end in next week’s season finale. Before we bid the gang farewell (hopefully not for good), there’s still plenty of drama left to unfold, including but not limited to the identity of the cast’s fiery stalker. The cast suspects an old 90210 guest star as the culprit, but life doesn’t always imitate art.
Elsewhere in the penultimate episode of BH90210′s first season, Tori brings an intimacy coordinator on board to ease her concerns for David and Donna’s first sex scene. Matters of sexual tension strike the rest of the cast as Gabrielle and Ian face consent forms and Jennie’s low-boiling love triangle heats up. So, who returned to the zip, and who’s the real stalker?
Let’s break it all down in this week’s five most shocking BH90210 moments.
1. The gang pays an old friend a visit.
After the fire sets back production on the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot and leaves the cast reeling, Tori’s fall down the stairs jogs her memory to a certain someone who could be the culprit: Jamie Walters, otherwise known as the notorious Ray Pruit. (It’s okay if you don’t remember him; Shannen didn’t either, but she’d already left the show during Ray’s reign of terror.)

To catch their supposed stalker, the whole gang drives two hours to accuse Jamie of harassment and arson. But Tori’s hunch was wrong, and they simply sing “How Do You Talk to an Angel” to pay Jamie back.
2. Tori hires an intimacy coordinator.
On their first day filming the reboot, Tori’s none too pleased to discover director Jason has scheduled a Donna and David sex scene bright and early. You’d think she would feel comfortable with Brian after playing his love interest off and on for a decade, but 20 years later, she’s feeling insecure to get intimate in front of the camera. Tori walks out on the first attempt at the love scene but returns the next day with an intimacy coordinator.
As it turns out, the anxiety over looking good was all in her head thanks to a stiff *cough cough* display of confidence from Brian.
3. Ian learns there’s limits.
While Jennie dates her now reassigned bodyguard and Gabrielle circles a romantic relationship with Christine, Ian also flirts with the dangerous decision to become involved with someone at work. Ian and head writer Anna (Natalie Sharp) didn’t start out on the right foot (to say the least), but they have since patched things up following the rewrite.
Now, Ian and Anna move their mentor-mentee dynamic into something more romantic, and following a heat-of-the-moment kiss, Anna slaps Ian with a consent form. You’re not in the ’90s anymore, Ian.
4. Gabrielle and Brian come out… sort of.
Speaking of Gabrielle, she approaches Christine’s proposal of a consent form with pause, not knowing exactly what she wants from their relationship. While she doesn’t regret pursuing a sexual relationship with Christine, she’s not sure what it means or how she identifies, which is perfectly fine. She tells the cast as much when she comes out as “undeclared” (love that!), and Brian piggybacks on her moment to come clean about Zach, the new 90210 PA, being his son. The biggest shock here, though, is that Brian hasn’t even told his wife (or had a paternity test).
5. Zach might be the arsonist stalker after all.
Shocker, shocker! With the stalker still at large, Zach remains a suspect… but that’s unbeknownst to the cast. In the closing sequence of the episode, Gabrielle says goodnight to a man she assumes is part of the crew, but he’s actually a detective keeping tabs on Zach. He pulls a water bottle Zach throws away out of the trash can and slips it into a plastic bag.
If he’s not being investigated as the arsonist stalker, could Shay still be conducting her own inquest into Zach? It’s also possible he’s merely a red herring for Christine, who’s been scheming from the inside all along.
