Mayans MC Season 2: 5 big questions after Xaman-Ek

Mayans MC has some trouble brewing with several new, potential enemies, and some questions resulting from the Xaman-Ek episode.

The first episode of this seasons Mayans MC left us with five big questions, four of which have not been addressed. One question, however, was definitely answered after the Xaman-Ek episode. Here are five big questions as a result of last night’s Mayans MC episode.

Long lost love connection?

Post-fire, Dita is obviously going through some issues. So she starts to reminisce. Initially, the picture she pulls out and fawns over doesn’t provide many details, but the editing makes it clear Felipe is connected in some way.

When she later shows up at Felipe’s shop, excuse me, Ignacio’s shop, their connection is obvious. He would like to erase his past, but she makes it very clear that’s not a possibility. So what exactly is their secret? He asks her if she ever found out, but the topic is not clear. Were they former lovers?

Letting Miguel and Emily see them together adds to the intrigue because now everyone wants to know how they are connected.

Can a cartel go legit?

Emily sees some hottie named Iliana while on the way to the mayor’s office. Apparently they have a connection, but it’s secondary to some mysterious agriculture proposal that has yet to be fully fleshed out. Apparently there are six competing bids, and Emily is mad at Mayor Pena because she thought there was going to be some favoritism.

This causes some conflict for Miguel, who is trying to go legit, and he storms out on his mother at the doctor’s office. So now Miguel has to repair the relationship with his mother, as well as the one with the Mayor and Iliana. Will he resort to criminal elements to ensure a legit business deal?

Have new enemies emerged?

The Reyes brothers travel to Stockton to get Happy, potentially even kill him, and two crotch rockets zoom by. Later at a gas station, the same two riders confront EZ and Angel about not asking permission to pass through the area. They appear to be posers, however, because Angel pulls out a pistol, calls them Todd and Brad, and basically dismisses them.

It’s all very reminiscent of when Jax Teller punked a douchey guy in Sons of Anarchy.

While there is a later confrontation in which the Reyes brothers punk the entire lame MC of dudes named Trevor and Josh, there may be a new, wannabe MC causing future problems. And, as if that weren’t enough, the cops in Stockton shoot one of the Stockton charter’s Mayans. Now there are problems with local cops and punk wannabes.

Speaking of enemies…

Mini (Scarface) leaves the safehouse and has everyone looking for her. Adelita is worried. The Mercs are roaming in a HMMWV looking for both of them. So this is yet another issue for them, and where the episode gets its name.

Xaman-Ek was the guide of the merchants, and that’s where a good portion of the episode takes place. The hunt is on for Mini, and ultimately she avoids the Mercs. The Mayans bring her home to Adelita, but the search was enough for the Mercs to now up their intel and recon efforts on their frenemy motorcycle club.

There is only answered question from episode one.

Angel is the father of Adelita’s baby! She wants to keep it secret, however, until the baby is born. Once that news gets out, the Mercs and the Feds will know there is a connection. The resulting question here is how exactly Adelita’s behavior and approach will change, along with Angel, when their own child becomes involved. Could a sudden desire to go legit enter their minds?

There are problems in every direction for the Mayans MC, and it may soon overwhelm them while they try to keep up with their every day criminal activity. Oh, and don’t forget the Reyes brothers still have to avenge their mother by getting to Happy.
