The Winchesters head out on a crime spree on Supernatural Season 7, Episode 6. That is people who look like the Winchesters.

Remember the bank robbery and the murders that the Winchesters were accused of doing throughout the years on Supernatural? They all came back to bite the Winchesters in the butts in Season 7, Episode 6. Someone copied them to get them in trouble in “Slash Fiction.”

With the brothers back on the radar of the FBI and every other authority in the United States, you just knew that this wouldn’t be easy to get out of. What were their options?

The Leviathans know all

More from Supernatural

The Leviathans are nothing like Jon Snow. They know everything, including the brothers’ aliases. So when the Leviathan captured at the end of the last episode is calm while Bobby tests out methods of killing him, it’s clear that there’s something bigger at play.

That “something bigger” is Sam and Dean Winchester holding up the First Bank of Jericho in California. Only, it’s not Sam and Dean. We know it’s two Leviathans who just happen to look exactly like the Winchester brothers. To make matters worse, the Leviathans don’t just hold up the bank. They kill everyone in the bank.

But how could the Leviathans clone the Winchesters? They need DNA, which is something they got from the motel shower drain. The Leviathans immediately prove themselves as worthy adversaries.

Throughout the episode, we watch as the Leviathan Winchesters hit up a Black Water Ridge convenience store and then head to Manitoc for another. The two end up on the FBI’s Most Wanted list as the two Leviathans cross state lines.

Sadly, the real Winchesters don’t realize that they’re on the Most Wanted list. So, they’re not prepared for a couple of FBI agents to follow their location as they look for a man who can help them go off the grid.

Finding Frank Devereaux

That man is someone Bobby knows. Frank Devereaux knows how to get someone off the grid. When they get to Frank’s house, it looks empty. The Winchesters look around and find Frank in the living room with a gun trained on them.

After hearing that Bobby sent them, Frank reluctantly agrees to help. However, it’s soon clear that this guy is an unstable conspiracy theorist. Does that really matter when he has new IDs, passports, government IDs, and more? He offers a range of other tips to remain off the grid, including changing phones regularly and only using cash for purchases.

Sam even gets a new laptop, after his old one is smashed by Frank, and they’re given a Pontiac Acadian to hide Baby for now. And if that wasn’t enough, they’re given a map with circled locations. These are where the doppelgangers have hit so far. Is there a pattern?

Killing a Leviathan

Back at Rufus’ cabin, Bobby is trying anything to kill the Leviathan. He’s interrupted by Jody Mills showing up, who has beer and food. She even offers to cook and clean up as a way to thank Bobby for saving her life at the hospital.

Jody is just the person needed. When the Leviathan escapes and is about to attack Bobby, something drips through from the ceiling and eats away at the Leviathan’s flesh. It’s just a cleaner, which happens to include sodium borate, but it’s the way to slow down the Leviathans.

Back on the doppelgangers

With the map, the Winchesters realize that the Leviathans are following every town the Winchesters have been to. The next one up is St. Louis, but the Leviathans are already there. Sam realizes that Ankeny, Iowa will be next.

The FBI agents have realized that’s where the two will go. It’s not surprising when the local sheriff and other officers surround the real Winchesters at gunpoint.

With the Winchesters in custody, the Leviathans think they have them trapped. Shapeshifting into deputies, the two attempt to get to the Winchesters. The sheriff sees the two deputies later shapeshift back into Sam and Dean, so realizes that everything Dean has told him is true.

The sheriff helps to deal with the Leviathans and then agrees to fake the Winchesters’ deaths for when the FBI turns up. Although it’s not before Sam learns that Dean killed Amy Pond. The sheriff even tells the FBI agents that the bodies have already been sent to cremation.

Unsurprisingly, Sam makes it clear that he can’t be around Dean right now. The brothers split up for the first time in Supernatural Season 7.

The Crowley twist

It turns out the FBI agents were also Leviathan clones and call their boss, Dick Roman, about the situation. Dick makes it clear that they can’t clone the Winchesters again.

Getting off the phone, Dick steps into his limo, where Crowley is waiting for him. Dick isn’t impressed with Crowley’s offerings since he views demons as lesser than humans.

Crowley considers something before disappearing. Would this be the start of a dangerous friendship?
