The latest episode of black-ish focuses on Junior trying to survive after losing his job with the Migos and was full of great moments. Here are the best of the best.

In the second episode of black-ish Season 6 we get a Junior episode as he continues to adjust to life on his own. Diane and Jack found out about Junior losing his job with the Migos in the previous episode, but they struck a deal to keep it from their parents. That falls apart in epic fashion and the aftermath made the majority of the comedy in the episode before it took a more serious tone.

Lets dive in to the best moments of black-ish Season 6, Episode 2!

5. The Heist

At the start of the episode, Junior and his roommates show up to the house and Dre talks about how he actually likes his son. There are laughs, daps, and hugs all around between the parents and the boys when they stop by. However, those smiles fade as soon as they leave and Dre realizes all of the good stuff is gone and yells:

"“Babe, we’ve been jacked!”"

From there we get a reenactment that shows us what really happened complete with the backing of a Rick Ross song. Dre describes it as an Oceans 11 style mission. “He knew where we kept all of the stuff broke kids never buy.”

It was the perfect way to kick off the episode.

4. Miles snitches

More from ABC

Almost immediately after this, Jack comes down to the kitchen for a mango only to realize they’re gone. He says under his breath: “That wasn’t part of the deal.” and immediately tells his parents that Junior lost his job with the Migos. At this point Junior has returned (without the bag he previously had) and when he hears Jack snitch he says:

"“They took the mangos didn’t they.”"

Apparently Jack was in on the heist and only had the boys promise not to take the mangos. As soon as that rule was broken Jack’s loyalty was out the window.

3. Poor Charlie

At work the next day Dre is talking to Charlie about Junior being broke and having to teach him a hard lesson. They’re chatting about how they struggled when they were first trying to make it on their own. Dre talks about living off of pork and beans and Charlie says:

"“You had meat? I only had toast.”"

Dre sympathizes and turns the conversation to the present day by talking about how much you appreciate it after you make it out of those rough times. Charlie agrees just as the toaster pops up and he grabs his toast. He continues to talk about how great it is to make it and how he’s never going back but the expression on his face lets us know he’s still struggling.

2. Morgan Freeman

After this Dre continues to talk about how Junior is cut off but will learn to live on his own but Charlie now warns him that Junior won’t. He says that Junior didn’t grow up broke and won’t know how to survive that way.

He compares Junior to a penguin who was raised by humans because its parents died. Once they determined he was big enough to go out on their own they release the penguin and it gets eaten on its first day in the wild. Then Morgan Freeman shows up to tell you how it’s the circle of life and that’s where things derail and it becomes clear that Charlie is still affected by March of the Penguins.

1. The Dap Cash-Handoff

After being convinced by Charlie that Junior won’t make it on his own, Dre now has to find a way to help Junior without letting Bow know that he’s caved. They were happy to be on the same page for once when it came to cutting Junior off so he can’t show that he’s giving in now. He has Junior over and feeds him but when Bow comes home she sends Junior off. Dre allows this and goes to give Junior a dap.

That’s when a wad of cash hits the floor and Bow is disappointed in Dre for trying to sneak this by her. She leaves the room and Dre turns around to Junior disgusted.

"“How do you mess up the dap cash pass? How do you pay your barber???”"

Junior replies:

"“Venmo.”"

and the generational gap is once again made obvious.

New on Netflix in October. dark. Next

The entire show is based on this premise that Dre and Bow have been able to give their kids the type of life that Dre didn’t have growing up and how his kids are now very different from the way he was. It has been a struggle for him to connect with Junior especially and that all came back to the surface in this episode.

black-ish will be back next week at 9:30/8:30 Central with a special episode featuring Tracee Ellis Ross’ former Girlfriends co-stars. Only on ABC.
