Supernatural Season 15, Episode 1 gave us Lizzie Borden’s spirit. However, there are some inconsistencies with this character. How could she be evil?

Every now and then, there will be an inconsistency in Supernatural. When a show goes on for so long, it happens, even with a large team of people to avoid it. One of those inconsistencies seems to have come up in the Season 15 premiere.

One of the spirits in the town was Lizzie Borden. While there are many theories about Lizzie and the murders of her father and step-mother, the show has already bought us Lizzie’s storyline. In Season 11, we learned Lizzie had been possessed by a demon and it was the demon that killed her father and step-mother.

With that in mind, how could Lizzie possibly be an evil spirit in Season 15? She wasn’t the one responsible for her actions considering she was possessed by a demon. It suggests that those who commit crimes while being possessed by demons are marked for Hell.

However, there’s still an inconsistency. While Lizzie’s spirit may have gone to Hell, would she have been as twisted and evil as she was in the premiere episode? It’s possible if she was tortured in Hell, but there’s one thing that still sticks out in my head about Lizzie.

She didn’t seem like a vengeful or twisted spirit. Lizzie was more like a violent spirit, which means she was evil when she was alive. That wouldn’t make sense for the storyline previously set up about Lizzie in Season 11.

This likely isn’t something the show will bring up. After all, there’s a chance the writers haven’t realized there was an inconsistency with the storyline. The writers likely just wanted a violent spirit that would be easily recognizable at a glance, and Lizzie is certainly one of those people from history that many would immediately recognize.
