Ruth Connell shares the hilarious reason “Abi” is her favorite spell on Supernatural

We all have our favorite moments and spells. At SPN Tor 2019, Ruth Connell gave us the hilarious reason why “Abi” is her favorite spell on Supernatural.

Over the years, there are moments, lines, and even spells that stand out for fans. There are also many of these moments and lines that stand out for the Supernatural actors. At SPN Tor 2019, Ruth Connell was asked about her favorite spell, and she gave a hilarious reason for it.

It turns out that “Abi” is Connell’s favorite spell in Supernatural. For those who don’t remember, it’s the repelling spell. Rowena flings her arm and says “Abi” (pronounced “a bee”) and the subject goes flying telekinetically. At one point, she would say “Abite,” but it was shortened later in the season.

Why is this one her favorite considering there are so many others? Well, it turns out that this is the only one she can remember. Yes, that was her honest answer in two separate Q&As at the event.

It makes sense that it will be the only spell she can remember. The spells Rowena casts are mostly in Latin, although some other languages have been used. She’s had to learn a lot of different spells that can take up a few lines on the script page, so “Abi” makes sense to be the favorite.

However, during the second time she was asked the question, she did admit that the spell she uses from the Book of the Damned when she’s powering up to protect herself from Lucifer was a favorite spell. She couldn’t remember the words, although gave a translation of it, but she loved the meaning behind the spell.

Ruth Connell also shared how she learns her lines for spells. While they’re written down in various languages, she has them dictated and she listens to them over and over again. After that, she works through the wording to figure out how Rowena would say the spell.
