Supernatural Season 15 may be taking a break for the winter, but we’ve got the promo for the midseason premiere. Here are the five big takeaways from it.

Supernatural Season 15 is on its winter Hellatus. There are just a few short weeks for the series to return with an all-new episode, and we already have the promo for it. Here’s a look at my five top takeaways from the Supernatural Season 15, Episode 9 promo.

This is a chance to break down the promo, although we don’t have a synopsis to work with this time. I know some of you believe that the promos and synopses are spoilery, so you’ve been warned that we will get into spoilery territory. Personally, they’re just teases of things to come and there are quite often times I’ve missed the mark.

Before I get into my breakdown, here is the Supernatural Season 15 midseason premiere promo to get ready for the return of the series.

5. God wants Sam to see the future

The last we saw of Sam and Eileen, they’d been lured into a trap. God knew that Eileen wouldn’t head out onto a hunt alone. She’d bring Sam with him, which is just what he wants.

He’s got Sam tied up and is showing his psychic link all the “future.” Is this the way that God wants the story to end?

4. Time is running out

There’s a focus on God’s stopwatch. Throughout the promo is the sound of the ticking clock. It’s a sign that time is running out.

The question for me is whose time is running out? Is it the Winchesters’? Maybe it’s a sign that God’s time is running out.

3. Dean and Cass head to Purgatory

After Michael opened the doorway, Castiel and Dean will get the chance to head into Purgatory. They’re looking for a Leviathan blossom, which can only be found in this one place. That means plenty of monsters and danger.

Will it mean we come across some familiar faces? This would be the perfect time to bring Benny back into the story. It would also be a good time for a few other familiar faces like Lenore, Dick Roman, and even Gordon Walker.

2. There will be multiple alternate world endings

We’re possibly going to get to see the alternate endings. There’s a flash of Dean burning in fire and then one of Sam being attacked by Bobby (more on that in a minute). Of course, these could be the way the current story may end, but it’s also a hint that God is thinking of showing alternate endings.

It continues to grow the link between Sam and God. This could also give Sam a few ideas on how to take down God and lock him away for eternity.

1. Our Bobby looks to be back

There’s a flash of Bobby attacking Sam. This looks like our Bobby too. He’s certainly needed in the story. As much as I’ve enjoyed seeing an alternate version of him, I’ve missed our own Bobby and it makes sense to bring him back into the final season in some way.

However, I don’t like the idea of him attacking Sam. Unless Sam has been possessed and they’re trying to keep Sam down temporarily. That’s the only time attacking him (and locking him in the panic room) is allowed.
