10. Baywatch

Original Run: September 22, 1989 – May 14, 2001

Ratings: Baywatch was a monumentally successful television series. It spawned many spin-offs and retained a place in pop culture legacy. The original run of the show lasted for 11 seasons before it eventually came to an end. It helped launch the careers of people like Pamela Anderson, David Hasselhoff, and of course, Jason Momoa, although he’s not as well-known for his role in the show.

Critical Acclaim: At first, Baywatch failed on the network. It was canceled after one season but Hasselhoff and the producers managed to get it saved and from there it took off. While the series was never an Emmy winner by any means, it was still beloved by audiences.

About the Role: Momoa was pretty young when he starred on Baywatch for a while. His character, Jason Ioane, doesn’t show up until the show’s tenth season. He only remained on for two seasons since the show ended after that. Still, he was nice to look at and fun to watch. Even back then, Momoa had a lot of charisma.

Simply the Best: Baywatch is considered a classic, even if many people believed it to be cheesy. It often embraced its silliness. The show was about a group of lifeguards working in Los Angeles who protected the city’s best beaches. The show wasn’t exactly realistic, given how typical it was for the lifeguards to do the work of cops, but most people watched it for the attractive cast anyway.
