The last Supernatural Season 15 midseason premiere will be here next week. It’s time to dive into what to expect with the Episode 9 synopsis.

This time next week, we’ll be getting ready to watch the Supernatural Season 15 midseason premiere. We’ll have just 24 hours or so to go, getting all the answers to our burning questions after the cliffhanger at the end of the fall finale. The Supernatural Season 15, Episode 9 synopsis is here to give us a hint of what to expect.

The CW is keeping things fairly vague with the synopsis. It’s going to be a good thing for those who have complained over the years about spoilers in the synopses, but it doesn’t give us much to go on when it comes to getting an idea of the episode.

In fact, the synopsis tells us everything we already knew would happen from the promo. Sam and Eileen are facing God, while Dean and Cass head to Purgatory. The synopsis doesn’t even use the word “Purgatory,” but we know they’re heading there after Michael opened the 12-hour doorway for them.

Something that we can take from the synopsis is details about the writer and director. This is an episode penned by Robert Berens, and he has brought some of the best episodes going. He’s also extremely talkative on Twitter, and we get to learn a little more about the thoughts behind moments during the episodes if you follow him. Hopefully, he’ll be live-tweeting on Jan. 16 to share his thoughts about this one.

As for the director, our showrunner Robert Singer is stepping in that seat once more. This isn’t all that surprising. The showrunners will usually take on the bigger episodes, and this is certainly one of the bigger episodes.

Here’s the Supernatural Season 15, Episode 9 synopsis to see what to expect during the episode:

"AS GOD IS MY WITNESS – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Eileen (guest star Shoshanna Stern) are faced with the brutal truth. Meanwhile, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Cass (Misha Collins) work together in the hopes of getting a step ahead of Chuck (Guest Star Rob Benedict). Robert Singer directed the episode written by Robert Berens (#1509)."
