Have you ever wanted to relive Glee with your favorite cast members? Now you can. Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz are starting a Glee recap podcast.

We can add this news to the list of “things we didn’t quite expect in 2020,” am I right? If you’re a huge Glee fan like myself, then you must be screaming. Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz, otherwise known as fan-favorites Artie and Tina, are hosting Showmance: The Glee Recap starting Thursday, Jan. 16.

McHale and Ushkowtiz reunited for the first season of Showmance last year, but they’re putting a new spin on the second installment after the topic of Glee just couldn’t be avoided. What’s even better – Lea Michele will be a special guest on the premiere episode, which of course will cover the iconic pilot.

More from FOX

Glee first aired on FOX in May 2009 and ran for six seasons through 2015. Now that several years have passed since the show premiered, this is the perfect time for a recap podcast to emerge as many Gleeks, including myself, have since binged the show on Netflix for the first time for various reasons. Whether you watched the show as it aired weekly or for the first time just last year, there’s no denying that the show could stand the test of time.

Creator Ryan Murphy is no stranger to making sure his shows are well-represented with diversity. Though the series was often criticized for the way certain stereotypes were displayed, Glee had no shortage of representation with same-sex couples, as well as disabled and transgender characters. Even through the on-and-off-screen drama and powerful singing competitions, viewers who longed for love and acceptance found a special type of family within the series.

Now that so much has happened in the cast members’ lives since departing the New Directions’ classroom, Showmance will be the perfect place for McHale, Ushkowitz, and viewers alike to reconvene and reminisce about the legacy that was left behind.
