5. How I Met Your Mother (2005-2014)

A show just as iconic and hilarious as Friends, is definitely How I Met Your Mother. The comedy was perfect on all levels (except maybe the ending for many), and took audiences on a lengthy nine-season journey as one man set out on the quest to find love.

For protagonist Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), that journey consisted of twists, turns, flings, romance, moments with friends, slap bets, and of course Barney Stinson’s (Neil Patrick Harris) playbook.

Though Ted was a down-to-earth, mature guy, his friends always knew how to increase the excitement and comedy. Nobody did this more than suit-loving, womanizing Barney, whose various schemes to attract different women will certainly never be forgotten.

In addition, the strong-willed Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), hilarious Marshall, and quiet-but-not-so-quiet Lily (Alyson Hannigan) round out one of the best groups of friends on a comedy TV series. Not only are they there for each other and throughout Ted’s quest, but their completely unique personalities make room for some hysterical clashes.

4. The Office (2005-2013)

It’s never a casual day at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company office in the series The Office, where pranks run rampant and doing actual work is a secondary task. For this group of workers led by the well-intentioned, but lackadaisical Michael Scott (Steve Carell), a day in the office is anything but a day at the office, technically speaking.

This is true with all the office shenanigans and mishaps happening with one of the most diverse ensemble casts in comedy TV history. This includes the no-nonsense Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson), sneaky Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), delightful Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer), sarcastic Stanley Hudson (Leslie David Baker), youngster Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak), the awkward Kevin Malone (Brian Baumgartner), and many more “workers.”

This series makes a huge foolery of working in an office, and the various characters “contributing” to Dunder Mifflin make the office parties, events, and days so much more hilarious.

3. Parks and Recreation (2009-2015)

Like Dunder Mifflin, a day at the Parks and Rec department in Pawnee, Indiana is anything but slow and boring in the series Parks and Recreation. Led by the passionate Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), the well-being of Pawnee is a huge focus in this office, but not always the primary.

Gossip, romance, scandals, pranks, and more sometimes interfere with the implementation of solid plans for the humble townspeople of Pawnee. Hence, this is a reason why the sitcom is one of the funniest out there.

When you have characters like “stern” director Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), chatty Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari), motivated Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones), sardonic April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza), foolhardy Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt), and naïve Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott), it’s bound to be an exciting day in the Parks and Rec department!
