SEAL Team renewed for Season 4 ahead of its third season finale
SEAL Team fans can breathe a sigh of relief for another season. The fourth season is officially confirmed by CBS. Here’s what we know so far.
Bravo Team will be back to fight another day. SEAL Team has been renewed for a fourth season, hours ahead of the abrupt Season 3 finale.
CBS announced that the majority of its shows would come back for new seasons in the 2020-2021 season. This included SEAL Team, which was unfairly on the bubble for yet another season. It’s certainly not the first time that we’ve had to wait until late into the TV season year to find out if we’ll get more stories with our favorite men and women in and connected to Bravo Team.

- The Young and the Restless recap (Nov. 21): J. Eddie Peck returns as Cole
- Blue Bloods is ending in Fall 2024 but not with a season 15 like we hoped

- Kyle follows his family’s plan on Young and the Restless (Nov. 20 recap)
Considering the way SEAL Team Season 3 is likely to end, this fourth season renewal is excellent news. Unlike previous seasons, the show is likely to see Bravo Team remain in Afghanistan on deployment. Previous seasons have ended with everyone returning home, but the show is two episodes shorter this season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
While filming can’t happen, the writers will get a chance to get scripts ready. The two episodes that were going to be the last two of the season will likely become the first two episodes of SEAL Team Season 4. As I don’t think we’ll find out if Cerberus is going to be retired or not by the end of the May 6 episode, I get the feeling we’ll learn the decision at the start of the new season.
We don’t know when the series will return with its stories. The problem right now is shows can’t film, so we may have to wait until later in the year or even into 2021 for our favorite shows to return. The patience will be worth it.
The renewal comes with news that SWAT, NCIS, All Rise, and many more shows have also been renewed. It’s been the comedies that have been the hardest hit on CBS this season, with Carol’s Second Act, Broke, and Man with a Plan canceled, according to TVLine. Tommy has also been canceled, but we already know God Friended Me and Hawaii Five-0 aren’t coming back for more stories.
SEAL Team Season 3’s finale airs May 6 at 10/9c. Season 4 will be back during the 2020-2021 season.
