Grade B: “Beefsquatch,”  “The Oeder Games” and “Prank You for Being a Friend”

This is where things start to get tough as “B” grades are hard to explain. These episodes are great and worthy of being a finale. However, they aren’t the best of the bunch. For this category, the episodes are “Beefsquatch” and “The Oeder Games.” These two are both memorable and noteworthy so let’s get into the episodes and see why they ended up with a “B” grade.

First is “Beefsquatch” which served as the Season 2 finale. The episode starts with Bob getting his own cooking segment only to realize Gene has to be there as Beefsquatch. They two begin to resent each other and even, exact some revenge on each other.

Things quickly go off-the-rails until Linda is able to reel them in. By the end, everything is back to normal thankfully. While it wasn’t a “perfect” episode, it was an excellent way to cap off Season 2 and gave us a nice taste of Bob and Gene’s relationship.

The second is “The Oeder Games” which was the Season 5 finale. The episode kicks off with Bob helping to organize Mr. Fischoeder’s tenants for a rent strike. Fischoeder is expecting it and decides to pit them against each other in a water balloon fight. Things escalate quickly before Linda’s able to explain no one’s going to win aside from Fischoeder and Bob was only trying to help.

Thankfully, the episode ends with the rent strike being forgotten and the tenants having some fun. Once again, this was an awesome episode but it wasn’t focused solely on the family or one of the main characters. It was a group effort, which was good but not enough to top the list.

Then there is the Season 10 finale, “Prank You For Being a Friend.” If you haven’t watched, there will be spoilers. The episode features two different plotlines with the main plot being Louise getting in trouble before realizing she can use Kaylee as a prank outlet.

Eventually, the two form a friendship and it ends up being what saves the two of them from Mr. Frond’s wrath. As for Bob, he gets more than he bargained for by helping Jimmy Pesto.

As for the grade, “Prank You For Being A Friend” landed in the “B” category. There is a lot of character development for Louise and it’s nice to see her making a friend. What makes the episode so great is watching Louise realize her mistakes and not wanting someone to repeat them. Plus she ends up helping out Kaylee which is a rarity for her. T

he only drawback was Bob’s plotline as Louise’s plotline could have filled an entire episode. Overall, it wasn’t at the top tier of season finales, but the Season 10 finale was pretty great.
