How did The Order Season 2 come to an end?

We were certainly taken on a wild ride throughout The Order Season 2. Every two episodes there would be a main problem to solve, but there was an overall storyline throughout the season. It’s now time to breakdown the ending.

As a quick recap of other episodes, Salvador turned out to be the real leader of the organization that wanted to make magic available for everyone. She also turned out to be a werewolf and not Midnight. She was Alpha.

The problem with giving magic to the masses is that it led to mistakes. This opened up anomalies of sorts that would hurt and kill people. It threatened to bring the apocalypse, the fear that all werewolves had if magic wasn’t kept in order.

After killing Salvador at the end of The Order Season 2, Episode 9, Vera needed to find a way to prevent others from doing magic. She and the Knights of St. Christopher Knights of the Blue Rose needed to prevent the masses from doing magic. The problem was that Alyssa wanted to continue Salvador’s vision. That wasn’t just about giving magic to everyone but making it possible to do magic without requiring a sacrifice.

The only way to do that was to take Vera’s magic. Vera chose to give up what Alyssa wanted but pointed out that a sacrifice would always be needed. Whether paid now or later, doing magic meant a sacrifice.

The wolves save Lilith

While Vera and Alyssa had their problem, the wolves had another. They wanted to get Lilith back. Teamed with Nicole, they did a ritual but it went wrong. Nicole read the spell wrong. It didn’t require the sacrifice of an owl but the sacrifice of a witch.

Randall decided getting Lilith back was worth the sacrifice. After wiping Nicole’s memory of what she learned to protect her from the guilt, Randall went out and took Elizabeth Kelper, who had already proven problematic for Vera and the wolves. She became the sacrifice, allowing Randall to get Lilith.

And there were four wolves to do this. Gabrielle had been taken over by Midnight, who wanted to kill Silver Back.

After getting Lilith back, we learn that she has the markings of a demon. She tells Nicole that Earth isn’t her home. The demon realm is now her home and she wants to go back.

Dealing with Alyssa

Meanwhile, the situation with Vera and Alyssa needed the wolves to help. After getting what she wanted, Alyssa helps Vera to prevent the apocalypse. However, she refuses to give Vera her magic back.

As Jack tries to convince Alyssa to give Vera’s magic back, Midnight kills Alyssa. It looks like Vera’s magic is gone for good. Hamish stands by Vera’s side, making it clear that he will help to cover up this secret to allow Vera to remain in control at the Order. Jack takes Alyssa’s body to the woods, presumably to bury her.

Elsewhere in the woods, Randall is burying Kelper’s body. However, Gabrielle shows up naked and covered in blood. Randall immediately knows what’s happened and holds her as she shakes with shock and grief. She never wanted to kill Alyssa in the way Jack had never wanted to kill his ethics professor.

And that’s where we’re left after The Order Season 2. There are so many questions and we need a third season to wrap them up.
