There’s no way Bellamy can be dead on The 100 Season 7

For the last few episodes, The 100 Season 7 keeps telling us that Bellamy is dead. It’s something I refuse to believe.

The characters all believe that Bellamy has died. Octavia watched as the bridge opened and then a soldier let off his grenade. The blast would have blown everyone up (there is still a mark on the floor) but remember the bridge.

There’s a strong chance Bellamy jumped through the bridge to save his life. He may have been far enough across when the blast went off. The problem is we have no idea where Bellamy was sent and whether he’s on a planet with a faster or slower timeline. Does he have his memories of the events that happened?

The death didn’t happen on-screen on The 100

I’ve learned never to assume a death has happened until you see it. Sure, it looks like we’ve seen the death. What we’ve actually seen if what Octavia saw. We see her memories.

That’s how Echo learned the truth. Clarke has learned it from Octavia’s words. Everyone just accepts that Bellamy has died.

Yet, as a TV viewer, we didn’t see the death. There was just too much happening.

While Jason Rothenburg has had some questionable storylines and there have been potholes in the past, I don’t think this is it for Bellamy. We’re onto the final season and one of the most important characters on the show from the very beginning isn’t part of it. He’s died a quick death after barely being on the show for the first seven episodes.

Whether you want Bellarke or not, Bellamy is still important. He’s been a constant in Octavia’s life. There’s no way this show can end with Octavia and Bellamy not seeing eye-to-eye again. The show needs them to be close siblings, the way they once were. We need to see the man who stowed away on a ship to Earth just to be with his little sister on what could have been a journey to death.

The 100 Season 7 will have 16 episodes. We’re only onto Episode 7. There is still plenty of time to figure out that Bellamy isn’t actually dead and find out which planet he’s on. First, we need to deal with the Disciples and what they actually want from Clarke.

After learning to survive on Earth with the others, I’m sure he’ll figure out how to survive on whatever planet he has ended up on.
