Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This is likely the TV series you thought of when I said shows like Wynonna Earp. After all, there have always been many similarities drawn between the two. Buffy the Vampire Slayer seemed to start the female Chosen One storyline. There were other shows before it, but it was Buffy Summers who became the household name.

The reluctant world hero is certainly a reason to watch the 1990s series. However, there are many other reasons because of your love for Wynonna Earp.

One of the big reasons to watch Buffy is because of the way she relies on others to help her. Slayers are supposed to be solitary people, left money and at threat of an early death. Buffy decides that’s not for her. She needs her friends and relies on their strengths, something Wynonna does with her family and friends eventually.

There is also one of the strongest lesbian relationships on the series. Well, up until the tragic and inexcusable death! Willow and Tara quickly offered support for so many people, giving viewers a chance to see a relationship like theirs on mainstream TV, respected and loved by those around them. And with Willow’s coming out story, it does offer some memories of Waverly’s.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer has seven seasons to keep you entertained. The final season was known before being written, so it’s created as a final season. And it’s a good one.
