Is Season 11 giving us a glimpse into the future of Bob’s Burgers?

Bob’s Burgers is one of those shows where you want to root for the characters to succeed before realizing they never actually do. No matter what triumphs the Belchers have, there’s always a rain cloud hanging over them.

Oddly enough, Loren Bouchard has discussed this many times and even explained it’s in his plan. The series is basically before anything good or overly-successful happens for the Belchers.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean we can’t imagine how the Belchers get their happy ending. In particular, this week’s episode “Copa-Bob-bana” could give us a glimpse into the future. It’s unclear how and when the restaurant will take off.

Either way, this episode could give us a brief idea of how things could start for Bob and eventually, the steps he’ll take to move to the next level as a restaurant owner.

Before getting started, there will be spoilers for this week’s Bob’s Burgers episode, “Copa-Bob-bana.” If you haven’t watched it, you’ve been warned. With the spoiler warning out of the way, let’s talk about the episode and how it could be a possible step into the future for both Bob and the restaurant.

Let’s get into what happened into “Copa-Bob-bana” especially for Bob.

More from FOX

“Copa-Bob-bana” begins with Felix and Calvin Fischoeder coming into the restaurant to explain they’re converting a building into a night club. They want Bob to be the chef for only one night in exchange for a month’s rent.

Bob is surprised and nervous until he finally gets to the kitchen and realizes how impressive it is, resulting in him loving the idea.

Bob even takes the day off to get ready for his night at the club but Felix doesn’t appreciate his suggestions. Eventually, Calvin admits that he’s just humoring Felix until he gets bored and Bob is gutted to learn the kitchen will be destroyed. Bob accidentally spills the beans to Felix and he admits he hoped he’d get to work at both the restaurant and the club.

Felix comes up with a horrible revenge plan including locking Linda in the supply closet and breaking a wall to have raw savage go everywhere. Eventually, Bob gets Linda out and they’re able to stop Felix. The episode ends with Bob apologizing to the restaurant kitchen, realizing how much he appreciates it and the Fischoeders still giving them a month of free rent.

Did “Copa-Bob-bana” show a realistic future for Bob’s Burgers and for Bob?

Now, it’s time to answer the question: Could “Copa-Bob-bana” be a glimpse into the future? I have no choice but to say yes. Even though Bob’s plans with the Fisocheders always seem to go awry, one has to work out eventually.

As we know, Bob will get his big break at some point and it could be because of him working for the Fischoeders. Even if it isn’t because he worked for them, they might be able to suggest him to some of their other wealthy friends.

As much as Bob and his family may struggle, they’ll get their due. It’s doubtful that we’ll see it and if we do, it won’t be for a while. However, the Belchers are hard-working and deserve it more than anyone. Even though “Copa-Bob-bana” didn’t give the Belchers their big break, it’s a nice pipe dream. It was also fun to see Bob get a small glimpse at his dream coming true since he was in love with that kitchen.

While Bob didn’t get his big break, the episode was good. The kids go to have their own fun and the Belchers still came out on top. Oddly enough, this season has been focused a lot on Bob and it’s a nice change of pace.

Hopefully, we’ll see him be at the center of more episodes in the future until he gets that big break. Until then, watching the Belchers just living life is good enough.

Bob’s Burgers airs Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
