Who’s at the top of the leaderboard in Week 7 of Dancing With the Stars?

Evil was afoot in the ballroom on the Oct. 27 episode of Dancing With the Stars. In honor of Halloween, the dancing duos and judges dressed up as film’s greatest villains!

Although each villainous pair would perform for the judges, by the end of the night, another duo would be eliminated from the competition. So who made the top of the leaderboard this week?

More from ABC

Let’s recap the top three dances of the night from the Halloween-themed episode of Dancing With the Stars.

1. Nev Schulman & Jenna

This week, Nev Schulman and Jenna would dress up as characters from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake to perform the Paso Doble. In their intro package, Nev would talk about the relevance of Swan Lake to his life, having gone to see it at the New York City Ballet with his father over 20 times.

In the package, he would say that the ballet had been a great bonding experience between the two of them and that he wished his father could be sitting in the audience on Monday night. While that plan couldn’t come to fruition, his father would send Nev a video message, telling him that he’s already won so many hearts of the people that are rooting for him.

And Nev definitely won the hearts of the judges! Following their performance, judge Bruno Tonioli would commend Nev’s look, inspired by Tonioli’s friend Matthew Bourne’s rendition of the ballet, and the performance, which lived up to his expectations.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba would vehemently agree praising, in particular, Nev’s lines, negative space, and ability to transition in and out of character. Finally, Derek Hough would call the performance beautiful, calling attention to Nev’s shaping and ending his critique with a maniacal grin.

When it came time for the judges to reveal their scores, the intention behind the grin would be revealed as Derek, along with Carrie Ann and Bruno, would award the pair straight 10s, making their total for the week 30 out of 30!

2. Johnny Weir & Britt

Last week, Johnny Weir and Britt would find themselves in danger of elimination. Fortunately, they’d be saved, giving them a second chance and a newfound motivation to rise to the top of their game. In their intro package, Johnny would talk about the challenges he faced entering the world of Olympic figure skating as a young gay man. Despite the obstacles he faced, Johnny would tell Britt that the best performances he ever gave were when he had the most to prove.

This week, the duo would dress up as vampires to perform a Viennese Waltz to “Creep” by Vincint. Bruno would praise the dance for capturing a “gothic romance feel” and for being balanced.

Carrie Ann would agree, saying that the duo “floated through” the dance “like a dream” and would commend Johnny for “becoming one with the music.” To end, Derek Hough would call the performance a perfect formula, praising how all elements of the performance came together.

When all was said and done, the duo would receive straight nines, making their total for the week 27 out of 30.

3. Chrishell Stause & Gleb

Finally, we have Chrishell Stause and Gleb who would dance the Paso Doble to a cover of “In the Air Tonight” that was featured in the 2014 film Maleficent.

Their performance, which would feature Chrishell as the titular villain would be called “storytelling at its finest” by Carrie Ann, who, despite calling the performance simple, would say that it was executed beautifully. Derek would call the performance cinematic, saying that Chrishell tapped into the character well and that the simplicity of the dance gave it sparks and space.

Bruno would end the critiques by calling the performance mesmerizing and strong, saying that Chrishell had focus, intention, and purpose despite a few moments throughout where the dance lost fluidity. When all was said and done, Carrie Ann and Derek would give the pair nines while Bruno would give them an eight, making their total for the week 26 out of 30.
