Do you want the good news or bad news first? Well, the good news is that Succession season 3 is happening. The bad news, however, is that we don’t have a release date just yet. The second installment of the Emmy Award-winning dark comedy premiered on HBO in August 2019, and it looks like there might be an over-two-year gap between it and the third season.
Of course, COVID-19 safety concerns shut down production on TV shows and movies all over the world in the last year, and it looks like Succession season 3 is now finally filming. While this is certainly fortunate, it also means we likely have a little while until it will debut. But we have a little glimmer of hope that we won’t have to twiddle our thumbs with impatience for that much longer.
Succession season 3 release date
Despite the fact that we don’t have a confirmed release date for Succession season 3 just yet, we do have reason to believe that it will come out sometime in 2021. According to Harper’s Bazaar, we should expect new episodes to drop this year, with their evidence coming from a teaser video released by HBO Max in late 2020.
As a way of teasing their lineup “through 2022,” the streaming service shared a preview that includes the return of Succession. Considering the show is out filming in New York at the moment and television productions have been able to successfully and safely get back to work, we can assume that promised 2021 release date will stand.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated once we get any more information regarding the third season’s debut.
Much like the first season, Succession season 2 brings upon several new conflicts for the Roy family. Kendall (Jeremy Strong) returns to Waystar Royco after going to rehab, Logan (Brian Cox) strings Shiv (Sarah Snook) along regarding her future position at the company, and the cruise line scandal is still hanging over everyone’s heads as the family must appear in court.
We’re excited to find out what’s next for the wealthy family come Succession season 3, and are crossing our fingers it will in fact premiere sometime in 2021.
